Isaiah 41:13; 1 Peter 5:10
Isaiah 41:13; 1 Peter 5:10
What are all of the main ideas/concepts/points in each of these passages?
I am God, look it is me
I love you, even though you have blown it,
I am the LORD you God, I am with you
Fear the world vs fear of the LORD
tenderness of this image within the context of war,
can’t fight with right hand in God’s - he is the one fighting for us
Tension - we feel embattled, the world is raging against us, around us
tension - i have been protected even when I don’t see it, I often have not seen it
John Perkins - being beaten by racist police officers
how do we reconcile God’s protection when we experience unprotection, the wickedness of this world around us
God did not protect Israel, the temple was destroyed, the people were carried off into captivity

God might me the agent of our suffering? but in these verses (verse 8) the devil is the agent of our suffering
suffering because we are in Christ
God himself, will restore you & make you strong
glory focuses back on God
God protects us through the suffering
the main thing: I am God & I am with you - and nothing can take that away
I will protect you from those things that will pull you away from God (hatred, etc)
protects us from the enemy of ourselves
compassion - to suffer with, he is with through the pain and suffering
Jesus has endured suffering, rejection, pain, abandonment,
for a little while - our timing and his timing are two different things,
