Do you ever feel like you are God’s child but not Chosen?
let’s get real for a second - Saved, Loved, Redeemed but inadaquate?
or maybe just sick of being sifted by Satan and just want to be used by God in a BIG WAY.
Sometimes we can look at people with their gifts in comparison and just be discouraged. Let’s talk about it.
NEW MESSAGE SERIES | Ephesians - TAKE IT BACK | Whole book can be summarised in one Verse.
Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us in Christ with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places,

over next 4 weeks - I want to walk you through what some of these spiritual blessings are, what they mean in UNITY, and the WEIGHT of our SITUATION.
Fight my brother all the time | It was easy, duck weave, ali | one time, I found silava on my bag - gross - and someone said, it was this guy, so I instinctively spat back on his bag - next, pavement. The hit, hit me so hard, why? Cause I didn’t see it coming.
it’s easy to roll with the punches, if you know thier coming. Today, this series, we get our defence back | Go on offence | we are going to understand the fight,who you fight for, and who you fight with.
Title: You are Prepared in private to take it back
My Hope; You’ll begin to understand what you have in Christ, that it’s not JUST your salvation, but it’s power to effect your situation, to take ground back on the enemy. You’ll know you have all you need, to advance the kingdom of God.
**Prayer**
Let’s start with Ephesians 1:4-6
even as he chose us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and blameless before him. In love he predestined us for adoption to himself as sons through Jesus Christ, according to the purpose of his will, to the praise of his glorious grace, with which he has blessed us in the Beloved.
If we are going to prepare to take it back we need to get this.
What Paul is doing is explaining the Spiritual Blessings we get in Christ - one is - GOD CHOSE US FOR A PURPOSE | Adoption back then, same right as biological children - there was no different |
In him we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of our trespasses, according to the riches of his grace, which he lavished upon us, in all wisdom and insight making known to us the mystery of his will, according to his purpose, which he set forth in Christ as a plan for the fullness of time, to unite all things in him, things in heaven and things on earth.
Redeemed = Market Place Word | You redeem goods for money | God said “ I am going to take it BACK” | He created us - Satan, through his deception - took the world, We became a fallen world, seperated from God | But God wanted to reconcile us TO HIM and eventually, Jesus will come back and take it all back.
We have been REDEEEMED = BOUGHT = to be USED BY HIM | We have to know, that we are FORGIVEN - We struggle, knowing that we have been forgiven, Sins wiped Clean.
In him we have obtained an inheritance, having been predestined according to the purpose of him who works all things according to the counsel of his will, so that we who were the first to hope in Christ might be to the praise of his glory.
We need to understand this | in HIM = inheritance. Greek = Kleroo = Obtain by Lot = God determined it to be ours.
An entire inheritence - Happy with allowance - OT - What was the blessing? Physical? Land flowing of milk and honey - NT - It’s a Spiritual Blessing - What is it? Everything. Pompus, I’ll prove it.
So let no one boast in men. For all things are yours, whether Paul or Apollos or Cephas or the world or life or death or the present or the future—all are yours, and you are Christ’s, and Christ is God’s.
Paul was rebuking the corinth church because they where like “I follow paul, or appolos, he is awesome” “No peter, he is hte rock”
Stop huddling around peices of the inheritance like the Corinth Church. Paul is like “It’s all yours” - Paul says, the present, the future, it’s all yours - This is mind boggling.
So let’s look at this
Chosen for a PURPOSE
You have been redeemed and made new
You have been given EVERY SPIRITUAL BLESSING
IF ALL TRUE YOU MIGHT ASK | Why Pastor then am I struggling as a single mother? | Why does it feel like i’m in the valley? | Why did I get so hurt by that person | Why am I trying to overcome addiciton - but you said, we get every spiritual blessing |
Weight Lifting - 8 - 10 Week Block. You start light, you get to heavy - 8th week, you lift to failure, thats your max, start again | till you reach your max again - 8-10 weeks at THAT POINT you KNOW. 4 months. 4 months your hard work pays off - you don’t know, your doing all this until it’s done!!!
The other thing - it’s all done in PRIVATE. You can be CHOSEN, for a PURPOSE, and no one else know about it.
Everyone remembers David, as the boy who defeated Goliath, but let’s at look when he got Chosen by God.
Saul stuffs up, Samuel crys over it, and then goes and looks for the next king.
Samuel came - All boys lined up - 1 Samuel 16:6-7
When they came, he looked on Eliab and thought, “Surely the Lord’s anointed is before him.” But the Lord said to Samuel, “Do not look on his appearance or on the height of his stature, because I have rejected him. For the Lord sees not as man sees: man looks on the outward appearance, but the Lord looks on the heart.”
Went one by one, nope, nope nope. Samuel: “Is this all your sons” - Nope, one is what? tending the Sheep - One was FAITHFULLY SERVING, when the Lord came and chose him |
Then Samuel took the horn of oil and anointed him in the midst of his brothers. And the Spirit of the Lord rushed upon David from that day forward. And Samuel rose up and went to Ramah.
David was Chosen, He went to the Palace, overthrew Samuel, and took the king…wait - that did not happen, why? because he was CHOSEN, not yet prepared.
Someone needs to hear this - You may have an annointing, but God is asking you to serve. God raises the humble. God sees you, we don’t elevate ourselves, GOD elevates.
Many of us, are in the dirt, in the valley (spoke about last week), and we are missing the gift God is trying to give us - the gift of being Prepared in Private.
The opportunity of just being prepared in private | You know where David went after his Annointing? Back to the sheep, with the grass, the goats and the poop.
Why is it a gift to be prepared in private?
1. Your struggles become your strengths - What you are struggling with now, when you overcome them, GOD WILL USE THEM for someone else in the future.
“They need to know” - Is the biggest killer, “They need to know I can do this, or I can do that” no, they don’t. David, was always sent for - He was annointed, yet sent for.
2. Your character can be cultivated
Whoever walks in integrity walks securely, but he who makes his ways crooked will be found out.
When you’re being prepared in private - You can actually work on character - God is saying, I will raise you, when your character, meets your calling. “Do I have a wife?” Yes, when your character meets that calling. “Lord I want to have influence” “Yes, when your character meets your calling” “I want to raise you up, but I want you to STAND FIRM, when the light comes on - not someone who is going to be blown around.
Might remember | Saul Evil Spirit | Sent for David, to what? Play the Harp - Imagine poor character? “I’m annointed, I should be there” - But David Served Faithfully being Prepared.
Battle | Phillistines | Everyone knows it but do you know why David was there
but David went back and forth from Saul to feed his father’s sheep at Bethlehem. For forty days the Philistine came forward and took his stand, morning and evening. And Jesse said to David his son, “Take for your brothers an ephah of this parched grain, and these ten loaves, and carry them quickly to the camp to your brothers.
| he was taking his brothers LUNCH | Mighty King David, annointed - Taking his brothers LUNCH. Until, He saw what was happening, and he was put in a position, because of his preperation.
and David heard the man against God;
And David said to the men who stood by him, “What shall be done for the man who kills this Philistine and takes away the reproach from Israel? For who is this uncircumcised Philistine, that he should defy the armies of the living God?”
this was cussing back in the day | He knew sometihng had to be done and no one believed him because his preperation was in private. Saul; “You can’t do it, you’re just a youth” - Cause no one saw what he was doing in private!
You didn’t see me, I stuck down a lion, and a bear - You didn’t see me in my valley - Didn’t see me working on my stuff | Didn’t see when my faith was weak | When I had my struggles | And now this Man, who is defying the LIVING GOD that got me through that stands before me.
David knew, he was prepared, BUT, look what he says next
And David said, “The Lord who delivered me from the paw of the lion and from the paw of the bear will deliver me from the hand of this Philistine.” And Saul said to David, “Go, and the Lord be with you!”
David had the character and the humility, to know, that while God gave him the Gift it wasn’t him - it was God!!

Pauls Prayer, in Ephesians;
that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give you the Spirit of wisdom and of revelation in the knowledge of him, having the eyes of your hearts enlightened, that you may know what is the hope to which he has called you, what are the riches of his glorious inheritance in the saints,
His prayer is tht you WOULD KNOW;
the HOPE, of your CALLING
The RICHES of your INHERATENCE
The immeasurable Greatness of the power that is yours!!! - Don’t sit around and get beaten by the enemy, roll with the punches.
When David, was standing there, in the feild, against a MONSTER
Then David said to the Philistine, “You come to me with a sword and with a spear and with a javelin, but I come to you in the name of the Lord of hosts, the God of the armies of Israel, whom you have defied.
You are being prepared in private, for your position on the battle field
This series is about realising what we have in Christ. You, are co-heirs with Christ and I am telling you that you have the POWER to TAKE BACK what the enemy has taken.
Take back the purpose that God MADE YOU FOR. The lies that He whispered to you, you’re gonna say not today satan and take it back.
Spiritual strong hold - Take it back. We need some faith.
You, where in darkness until God chose, to take you back!!! So that he can mark and he can seal you - So that you can go into this world and TAKE IT BACK!!
Today is baptism Sunday - It marks a step in obedience to something that GOD TOOK BACK!!! God TOOK BACK HIS CHILDREN AND TODAY WE CELEBRATE IT CMON!!!
