THE PROMISE OF THE FATHER

The promise of the Father---LUKE 24:44-49; Acts 1:4-5; Acts 2:33

Acts 19:2 ---At conversion every Christian receives the Holy Spirit of sonship (Rom. 8:14-16; John 17:3; Eph 1:13-14) and has Him in a measure when converted (Rom. 8:9), but that is not what Paul referred to. He was asking about the Spirit baptism that John had preached (Acts 19:4 with Mt. 3:11; Lk. 3:16; Jn. 1:31-34; Acts 1:4-5; 11:15-17). This has nothing to do with the new birth by the Spirit ( Jn. 3:1-8 ).          Dake's Annotated Reference Bible

Who is suppose to receive the Holy Spirit---Joel 2:28; Acts 1:15, 2:14-18 ---all flesh, Acts 2:38-41 ---all that are afar off; Mark 16:15-20 ---they shall speak with new tongues--Jesus speaking

Holy Ghost not yet given---John 7:37-39

Give you the Holy Spirit if you ask---1 Cor 14:1, 5, 39; Luke 11:9-13

He shall give you a Comforter---John 14:15-31; 15:26; 16:7-22; 1 Cor 6:19

Have you received the Holy Ghost since you believed---Acts 13:52, Acts 19:2; 8:15-17; 10:44; 11:15-17; Rom 1:11; 1 Cor 12:1; Gal. 3:5

Jesus receives the Holy Spirit Mat 3:8-17

He shall baptise you with the Holy Ghost Mark 1:8; Luke 3:16; John 1:33

Jesus Christ the same---Heb. 13:8

What are the benefits of receiving the Holy Spirit---

John 14:26 ---teach you and bring all things to your remembrance

John 16:8 (AMP)---  And when He comes, He will convict and convince the world and bring demonstration to it about sin and about righteousness (uprightness of heart and right standing with God) and about judgment

John 16:13-16 ---He shall show you all things of the Father

John 4:21-24 ---worship in spirit and truth Acts 1:8 ---bold witness; It is the impartation of power for service

Romans 8:26-28 Amplified --- the Spirit intercedes and pleads [before God] in behalf of the saints according to and in harmony with God's will. 1 Cor 14:1-2  ---speakith mysteries onto God

1 Cor 14:4 ---edifieth himself

1 Cor 14:14-15 ---my spirit prayth

1 Cor 14:22  ---sign for them that believe not

2 Cor 5:5 ---the earnest--2 Cor 5:1-9
