Mack Sermon Notes July 31, 2022 God’s Heartbeat on Abortion… for His Children Part 4 John 17: 20- 23 (NKJV) “I do not pray for these alone [the Apostles], but also for those [us]who will believe in Me through their [Apostle’s] word; 21 that they all may be one, as You, Father, are in Me, and I in You; that they also may be one in Us, that the world may believe that You sent Me. 22 And the glory which You gave Me I have given them, that they may be one just as We are one: 23 I in them, and You in Me; that they may be made perfect in one, and that the world may know that You have sent Me, and have loved them as You have loved Me. 20 Psalm 106: 1-3 (AMP) Israel’s Rebelliousness and the Lord’s Deliverances. 1 Praise the Lord! (Hallelujah!) Oh give thanks to the Lord, for He is good; For His mercy and lovingkindness endure forever! When I have no mercy or mine runs out, God’s mercy endures forever. 2 Who can put into words the mighty deeds of the Lord? Or who can proclaim all His praise [that is due Him]? Blessed are those who observe justice [by honoring God’s precepts], Who practice righteousness at all times. 3 Start Here: GM GP This morning we are continuing our teaching on abortion from a Biblical Perspective. If you’ve been with us over the past several weeks, then you know that I have already addressed the issue of abortion from a Historical and Legal Perspective. In addressing the subject from a Biblical Perspective, I’m approaching the topic using a series of questions that gets at the heart of the abortion issue for Believers. Approaching it that way will help keep things simple while also helping everyone gain a better understanding of abortion from a Biblical Perspective. So far, we’ve addressed two questions. They are: Question 1: “What is abortion?” and Question 2: “Where did abortion come from?” In short, What is abortion? • the deliberate termination of a human pregnancy; occurs when a pregnancy is ended so that it does not result in the birth of a child. Second Question: Where did abortion come from? In other words, “Where did it originate? Another way of asking is “Where was the concept of abortion given?” • The short answer is Genesis, Chapter 3. It was the encounter of Eve with the cunning, devil-possessed serpent who deceived her into doubting, second-guessing God and tasting of disobedience which essentially open the door to the first sin. [Disobedience]. For the record, before Eve was deceived, she was sinless, but also temptable and seducible. • In effect, Satan said to her: “Is it true that God has restricted you form the delights of this place? This is not like One who is truly good and kind. • At that point, when Eve ate of the fruit – all potential for more sins came forth. In fact, the potential for a million more kinds of sins and inventions of sins that would dominate man’s life and the earth until the coming of Christ. The idea of abortion is just one of those such sin acts, evils, and depravities contrary to God’s will and righteousness that entered into the heart of mankind. • Satan would have us think that abortion is the unpardonable sin – it’s not. It’s just one of a long line of sins that have been invented since the FALL of man at beginning of time. • Let me show you in black and white what I’m saying: Genesis 3. Genesis 3:1, 4-7 (NKJV) 1 Now the serpent was more cunning than any beast of the field which the Lord God had made. And he said to the woman, “Has God indeed said, ‘You shall not eat of every tree of the garden’?” Then the serpent said to the woman, “You will not surely die. 5 For God knows that in the day you eat of it your eyes will be opened, and you will be like God, knowing good and evil.” 4 6 So when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, that it was pleasant to the eyes, and a tree desirable to make one wise, she took of its fruit and ate. She also gave to her husband with her, and he ate. 7 Then the eyes of both of them were opened, and they knew that they were naked; and they sewed fig leaves together and made themselves coverings. The key word in verse one is “EVERY.” “Has God indeed said, ‘You shall not eat of every tree of the garden’?” When God said, “Of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil you shall not eat for in the day that you eat of it you shall surly die.” He wasn’t depriving Adam; He was protecting Him. In other words, it was like a parent “Don’t mess with the stove or the lawn mower, or the hair clipper/scissors.” However, Satan’s intent was to use “The EVERY” card to open the door of doubting God. It is the “EVERY” card duped mankind ever since. The “every card” has aroused man’s curiosity and caused him to go into sinful territory that has proven too dark and deadly for him. We’ll look at that territory later. Now, let’s move to question THREE . . . Question 3: What are the sins and sinful practices that Man’s Fallenness gave birth too? According to the Bible here are a few named in black and white: To begin, let me say: According to Romans 3: 23 “for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God,” Since all men were in Adam, a nature corrupted by Adam’s sin has been transmitted to all men of all ages, Jesus Christ being the only exception. All men are therefore sinners by nature, by choice, and by divine declaration. Notice what Romans 5:12 & 13 from the Amplified Bible says: 12 Therefore, just as sin came into the world through one man, and death through sin, so death spread to all people [no one being able to stop it or escape its power], because they all sinned. 13 Sin was [committed] in the world before the Law [was given], but sin is not charged [against anyone] when there is no law [against it]. Jeremiah 17: 9,10 (AMP) continues the report . . . it says . . . “The heart [of man] is deceitful above all things, And desperately wicked; Who can know it? 10 I, the Lord, search the heart, I test the mind, Even to give every man according to his ways, According to the fruit of his doings. 9 So, here are a few examples of the Sin-Repercussions of Man’s Fallenness. It’s easier to let God and the Scripture do the talking here. 1 Cor 6: 9-11a (AMP) 9 Do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived. Neither fornicators, nor idolaters (idol worhipers), nor adulterers, nor homosexuals, nor sodomites [that is, performers of unnatural or abnormal sexual intercourse on a person or animal – male or female], 10 nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners [blackmailers] will inherit the kingdom of God. 11 And such were some of you. But you were washed, but you were sanctified, but you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus and by the Spirit of our God. More sins identified by GOD: Galatians 5:19-21 (NKJV) 19 Now the works of the flesh are evident, which are: adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lewdness, idolatry, sorcery, hatred, contentions, jealousies, outbursts of wrath, selfish ambitions, dissensions, heresies, envy, murders, drunkenness, revelries, and the like; [Let me add rape and incest]; of which I tell you beforehand, just as I also told you in time past, that those who practice such things will not inherit the kingdom of God. Ephesians 5:3-5 names more specific sins against God . . . 3 But fornication and all uncleanness or covetousness, let it not even be named among you, as is fitting for saints; 4 neither filthiness, nor foolish talking, nor coarse jesting, which are not fitting, but rather giving of thanks. 5 For this you know, that no fornicator, unclean person, nor covetous man, who is an idolater, has any inheritance in the kingdom of Christ and God. Let’s go to Question 4: What are some inventive and creative terms infused into our vocabulary and culture today that disguise sinful acts making them more tolerable and palatable? These are contemporary Inventions of Man’s Fallenness? First, I’ll give you a few general sweetened sin terms, then provide some that are specific to abortion. see how Satan works. Let me begin by quoting Ecclesiastes 1:9 (NKJV). . . 9 The thing that hath been, it is that which shall be, and that which is done is that which shall be done: and there is no new thing under the sun. Now, let’s look at some undercover modern-day sin practices: • Gentleman’s Club • State’s Rights • Stand Back and Standby • Redress (symbolizes murdered or missing indigenous women) • Pride Month • Oath Keepers; Proud boys • Reproductive Rights • State’s Rights • Embryo Personhood Status = when the embryo is defined as a person due to a detectable heartbeat; technically known as: fetal cardiac activity.
