God’s Heartbeat on Abortion…
for His Children
Part 5
John 17: 20- 23
“I do not pray for these alone [the Apostles], but also for those
[us]who will believe in Me through their [Apostle’s] word; 21 that they
all may be one, as You, Father, are in Me, and I in You; that they also
may be one in Us, that the world may believe that You sent Me. 22 And
the glory which You gave Me I have given them, that they may be one
just as We are one: 23 I in them, and You in Me; that they may be
made perfect in one, and that the world may know that You have sent
Me, and have loved them as You have loved Me.

1 Cor 1:10-13
10
Now I plead with you, brethren, by the name of our Lord Jesus
Christ, that you all]speak the same thing, and that there be no divisions
among you, but that you be perfectly joined together in the same mind
and in the same judgment. 11 For it has been declared to me concerning
you, my brethren, by those of Chloe’s household, that there
are]contentions among you. 12 Now I say this, that each of you says, “I
am of Paul,” or “I am of Apollos,” or “I am of Cephas,” or “I am of
Christ.” 13 Is Christ divided? Was Paul crucified for you? Or were you
baptized in the name of Paul?
Psalm 106: 1-3 (Amplified Bible)
1
Praise the LORD! (Hallelujah!)
Oh give thanks to the LORD, for He is good;
For His mercy and lovingkindness endure forever!
When I have no mercy or mine runs out, God’s mercy endures forever.
Philippians 3:15-19
15
Let us therefore, as many as be perfect, be thus minded: and if in
anything ye be otherwise minded, God shall reveal even this unto you. 16
Nevertheless, whereto we have already attained, let us walk by the same
rule, let us mind the same thing.
17
Brethren, be followers together of me, and mark them which walk so
as ye have us for an ensample. 18 (For many walk, of whom I have told
you often, and now tell you even weeping, that they are the enemies of
the cross of Christ: 19 Whose end is destruction, whose God is their
belly, and whose glory is in their shame, who mind earthly things.)

This morning we are continuing our teaching on abortion from a Biblical
Perspective. If you’ve been with us over the past several weeks, then
you know that I have already addressed the issue of abortion from a
Historical and Legal Perspective.
In addressing the subject from a Biblical Perspective, I’m approaching
the topic using a series of questions that I believe gets at the heart of the
abortion issue for Believers and the church.
So far, we’ve answered two questions. They are:
Question 1:
“What is abortion?”
Question 2:
“Where did abortion come from?” Where was it born or given
birth?
Question 3:
“What are the sins and sinful evil practices that Man’s
Fallenness gave birth too?”
Question 4:
What are some inventive and creative terms used in culture
to describe and disguise sinful acts?
Now let’s look at a few more questions . . .
Question 5
Why are trendy names given to sins and evils of unrighteousness outside
of what the Bible has labeled them to be?
For instance, rather than calling sin, sin as God has, Satan and fallen
man have come up with some inventive ways to label sins. Why is this?
This is an important question for the church and the people of God to
answer – otherwise, if left unanswered, it is prone to lead to the church
and the saints marginalizing and tolerating sin.
Now, to answer the question:
Why are trendy names given to sins and evils of unrighteousness
outside of what the Bible has labeled them to be? What’s behind the
labeling?
The reason for the unbiblical soft labeling of sins and evils is to disguise
and downgrade sin so as to make it less convicting, less condemning,
and more appealing and acceptable.
Would you prefer:
• fornication or mutual relations
• Adultery or Sister Wife
• Witch/Warlock or Psychic/Spiritualist
• Covetous or Entitlement
• Fornicator/Adulterer or Swinger
• Drunkard vs. Social Drinker
• Whoremonger vs. Playmate, Escort,
or Exotic Dancer/Striper
What’s the intent behind cunning way of slyly renaming sin and evil?
Satan labels sin and unbiblical lifestyle practices with tolerable names to
deceive man into believing that what he is engaged in not really sin. He
wants to con us all into embracing sin without thinking of it as sin -especially those who don’t know Christ. Undiscerningly he wants us to
feel justified in our wrongdoing.
That’s the picture we see in The Parable of the Pharisee and the Tax
Collector in Luke 18:9-14
9
Also He spoke this parable to some who trusted in themselves that they
were righteous, and despised others: 10 “Two men went up to the temple
to pray, one a Pharisee and the other a tax collector. 11 The Pharisee
stood and prayed thus with himself, ‘God, I thank You that I am not like
other men—extortioners, unjust, adulterers, or even as this tax collector.
I fast twice a week; I give tithes of all that I possess.’ 13And the tax
collector, standing afar off, would not so much as raise his eyes to
heaven, but beat his breast, saying, ‘God, be merciful to me a sinner!’ 14
I tell you, this man went down to his house justified rather than the
other; for everyone who exalts himself will be humbled, and he who
humbles himself will be exalted.”
12
But then, there’s an even bigger con game Satan is trying to run on this
world by re-labeling sin and renaming unrighteousness. That game is to
cause man to go about being his own god and therefore picking and
choosing, what is sin, what is kinda sin, what is not really sin, what
maybe sin, what is a big sin, and what is a little sin. According to
God, any amount of sin is sin.
Galatians 5:9 and 1 Cor. 5:6 says: “A little leaven leavened the whole
lump.” In other words, a pinch of sin contaminates the whole of
everything. One drop of cyanide poisons the whole pitcher of Kool Aid.
For the record, the Bible declares of sin that “All unrighteousness is
sin.”
Plus, “All of us are products of sin, and “Have sinned and come short of
the glory of God,”
Plus, that fallen man’s best righteousness according to Isaiah 64:6 “Is
as filthy Rags.” Isaiah said:
“But we are all as an unclean thing, and all our righteousnesses are
as filthy rags; and we all do fade as a leaf; and our iniquities, like
the wind, have taken us away.”
What we are witnessing on the American headline news front is much
bigger than abortion alone. What Satan is doing with abortion and other
“immediate newsworthy sin events” is controlling the narrative by
spoon-feeding people a distraction that keeps them from seeing that All
Unrighteousness is Sin!
The Prince of this World would have everyone to be narrowly focused
on one or two or a handful of controlled issues at a time, so we they
never come to conviction about their own sinful state.
In fact, his scheming is so effective until people exempt themselves from
the certain condemnation of sin and stand tall and proud in their own
self-righteousness.
Here’s the tragedy in all of this:
First, the relabeling of sin with smooth acceptable names causes fallen
man to believe that the stuff I’m doing isn’t really sin; therefore, he
concludes that “I won’t surly die.” Why Not? Because first, Satan has
deceived him, and secondly, like Eve, he finds his sins to be “good for
food, that it was pleasant to the eyes, and a tree desirable to make
one wise.”
Finally, renaming sins with pleasant terms puts the control in Satan’s
hand. What this means is that the devil now dictates what is sin and
what is not. And he doesn’t stop there. He then recruits and empowers
other influential people to promote his “sin disguised con game, his
repackaged Ponzi scheme. That’s the meaning of “spiritual wickedness
in high places” as spoken in Ephesians 6:12.
12
For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against
principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this
age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places.
But how crazy is it that Satan is now in charge of determining what is
sin and what is not? What is right and what is wrong? What is life and
what is death? When Satan is in charge of calling the shots, as in what is
sin and what is not and dictating to the church which sins are more
important than the other we are on a collision course with judgment . . .
and it must begin at the house of God.
Next time . . . The conclusion of the Matter
What is Satan’s main purpose in using sin and evil hot button issues like
abortion, racism, homosexuality, same sex marriage, the redefinition of
marriage, man’s inhumanity to man, adultery, . . .
