Proverbs 14:4 KJV 1900
Where no oxen are, the crib is clean: But much increase is by the strength of the ox.
Proverbs 14:4 The Message
No cattle, no crops; a good harvest requires a strong ox for the plow.
What does this mean to you?
Animals are messy...
I spent hours yesterday working with my animals.
Water troughs had to be filled
Rabbits that needed attention
Chicks that had to be moved from the brooder box to pens
Chickens that had to have their wings clipped
That ment me crawling around in the coop catching birds - have you ever noticed that when an animal has to go, it just goes?
Dog pens that had to be cleaned out
Dog waters that had to be cleaned and refilled
Animals are a lot of fun...
Animals provide a lot of benefit...
And are A LOT of work!
Living on a farm you shovel a lot of manure!
Put this in Solomon’s words...
Building a church we will shovel a lot of mess!
New people won’t know what to do...
Kid’s will have their hands all over everything...
Disrupting your life...
Messing up the walls...
I feel like we will be moving soon...
I feel like its time - and we will see doors opened above and beyond what we have seen even in the past few months.
Church moves, building programs are dangerous times!
Things like paint color, class location, finger prints on glass become incredibly important...
In our situation: coming from a building that does not inspire pride, going to a building that we can make something to be proud of… we have to be careful!
Bottom line: growth is dirty, leadership is thankless!
We have to remember that to have a harvest means there is a messy barn…
Manure to shovel, snotty noses to wipe, messes to clean up!
