Saturday of the Nineteenth Week in Ordinary Time
Ezekiel looks to God's breaking the chain of guilt that included the child in the guilt of the parent, and Jesus fulfills this in receiving children directly, so that re-parented by their trust in him they receive not guilt but the kingdom and in turn are able to pass it on to their spiritual children.

Outline
In the ancient world children were of low social status
Jesus naturally turns such values on their head
But what is Ezekiel saying?
Sisters, there was a time when a family chose children to grow up in religious communities

RESPONSE
Psalm 51:12a
12 A clean heart create for me, God;
renew within me a steadfast spirit.
PSALM
Psalm 51:12–15, 18–19
12 A clean heart create for me, God;
renew within me a steadfast spirit.
13 Do not drive me from before your face,
nor take from me your holy spirit.
14 Restore to me the gladness of your salvation;
uphold me with a willing spirit.
15 I will teach the wicked your ways,
that sinners may return to you.
18 For you do not desire sacrifice or I would give it;
a burnt offering you would not accept.
19 My sacrifice, O God, is a contrite spirit;
a contrite, humbled heart, O God, you will not scorn.
GOSPEL ACCLAMATION
Matthew 11:25
25 At that time Jesus said in reply, “I give praise to you, Father, Lord of heaven and earth, for although you have hidden these things from the wise and the learned you have revealed them to the childlike.
GOSPEL
Matthew 19:13–15
13 Then children were brought to him that he might lay his hands on them and pray. The disciples rebuked them, 14 but Jesus said, “Let the children come to me, and do not prevent them; for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these.” 15 After he placed his hands on them, he went away.
