I. Jesus is the Apostle vs. 1a, 2-4

A. An Apostle was one sent, or a sent messenger. Jesus was sent with the message of the gospel.
B. In doing so, He was faithful like Moses. Moses was faithful to Yahweh. Not always so, but strikingly so.
C. Jesus was more faithful then Moses, the hero of the Jews.

II. Jesus is Our High Priest vs. 1b, 5-6

A. Jesus is our High Priest because He offered up the sacrifice for sin.
B. Moses was just a servant. He gave us a picture of Jesus through the law.
C. Jesus is the faithful Son, much higher than a servant. He was faithful to death on the cross.
D. The way we can tell that we are in Jesus’ house is that we endure to the end. (John MacArthur airplane story from The Gospel According to Jesus ex) I John 2:19
1 John 2:19 NASB95
They went out from us, but they were not really of us; for if they had been of us, they would have remained with us; but they went out, so that it would be shown that they all are not of us.
Matthew 13:20–21 NASB95
“The one on whom seed was sown on the rocky places, this is the man who hears the word and immediately receives it with joy; yet he has no firm root in himself, but is only temporary, and when affliction or persecution arises because of the word, immediately he falls away.
