INTRODUCTION
Most kids go through a phase of having to do it their way.
They have to learn it the hard way.
If they could just learn it from us we often say.

Israel being threatened by the Assyrians
God had a plan for the Israelite Nation to provide and protect them.
God provided everything they needed during their journey from Egypt to the Promise Land.
1 “Woe to the rebellious children,” declares the Lord, “Who execute a plan, but not Mine, And make an alliance, but not of My Spirit, In order to add sin to sin;
2 Who proceed down to Egypt Without consulting Me, To take refuge in the safety of Pharaoh And to seek shelter in the shadow of Egypt!
3 “Therefore the safety of Pharaoh will be your shame And the shelter in the shadow of Egypt, your humiliation.
4 “For their princes are at Zoan And their ambassadors arrive at Hanes.
5 “Everyone will be ashamed because of a people who cannot profit them, Who are not for help or profit, but for shame and also for reproach.”

God has had a plan for us from the very beginning.

Often we want to make a go at it ourselves. (We want to “Do it Our Way”)
MESSAGE
1 “Woe to the rebellious children,” declares the Lord, “Who execute a plan, but not Mine, And make an alliance, but not of My Spirit, In order to add sin to sin;
We get a glimpse at how the Israelites “went at it their way.”

Here we begin to understand what the Israelite where up to and why it was their way and Not God’s Way.

In these verse we find three ways that the Israelite Nation will be shamed.
