Faith and Patience

Hebrews 6:10–15 NKJV

For God is not unjust to forget your work and labor of love which you have shown toward His name, in that you have ministered to the saints, and do minister. And we desire that each one of you show the same diligence to the full assurance of hope until the end, that you do not become sluggish, but imitate those who through faith and patience inherit the promises. For when God made a promise to Abraham, because He could swear by no one greater, He swore by Himself, saying, “Surely blessing I will bless you, and multiplying I will multiply you.” And so, after he had patiently endured, he obtained the promise.

Hebrews 6:12 The Living Bible

Then, knowing what lies ahead for you, you won’t become bored with being a Christian nor become spiritually dull and indifferent, but you will be anxious to follow the example of those who receive all that God has promised them because of their strong faith and patience.

In order that you may not grow disinterested and become [spiritual] sluggards, but imitators, behaving as do those who through faith (by their leaning of the entire personality on God in Christ in absolute trust and confidence in His power, wisdom, and goodness) and by practice of patient endurance and waiting are [now] inheriting the promises.

Patience- Makrothumeia

Makro- long

Thumiea- passion or fierceness. Sometimes translated longsuffering, but in verse 15 is patiently endured.

It is in our patience, that we discover our identity. Who we are!

Mark 7:26 NKJV

The woman was a Greek, a Syro-Phoenician by birth, and she kept asking Him to cast the demon out of her daughter.

Jesus doesn’t challenge her faith, He challenges her identity by challenging her worthiness.

She stands her ground on the goodness of God to all mankind, even the little dogs...
