Do we really believe that phrase in God we trust - or do we trust more what it's printed upon?

Luke 12:32-34

New Living Translation (Chapter 12)
32 “So don’t be afraid, little flock. For it gives your Father great happiness to give you the Kingdom.33 “Sell your possessions and give to those in need. This will store up treasure for you in heaven! And the purses of heaven never get old or develop holes. Your treasure will be safe; no thief can steal it and no moth can destroy it. 34 Wherever your treasure is, there the desires of your heart will also be.

So don’t be afraid -

"So”. . . that indicates what has come before? - What did Jesus say before this statement -
Luke 12:29-31 Don’t be concerned about what to eat and what to drink. Don’t worry about such things. 30 These things dominate the thoughts of unbelievers all over the world, but your Father already knows your needs. 31 Seek the Kingdom of God above all else, and he will give you everything you need.

Little Flock -

This is addressed to those disciples who are listening - They are to be different than the world around them. This verse in Luke’s Gospel is the only place in the New Testament this phrase is used - “Little Flock” - It reminds us that we are no longer stray sheep but by the grace of the Good Shepherd we are part of the Flock - And although small, we are the focus of the shepherd.

Keys to the Kingdom!

“it gives your Father great happiness to give you the Kingdom.” - We are given a greater treasure than anything the world can provide. God has given His Kingdom to those of the Flock.

REALITY of Kingdom

BUT keeping eye on the kingdom -
What are we here for? - It’s not about saving our lives - It’s about giving ourselves away
God doesn’t need a building - God needs a lighthouse
God doesn’t want a clubhouse - God wants a refuge house
God doesn’t want an entertainment venue - God wants a place of praise and worship
God doesn’t need a place of slick excellence - God wants a place of legitimate community
