So we have been in the book of hebrews and last time we met we talked about Therefore. WE. Drift.

We talked about not just the importance of making sure we understand the total usefulness if i can, of our salvation.

When we focus in on Jesus we learn we dont get distracted from the world we live in. We get stuff done. and in that we are able to Grow SPiritually.

THen last week i touched base on the Kingdom of God. And something new im going to be doing that i know God has been asking me and pointing me to do so that not only I can grow as a teafcher but so we can have more opportunities to come together as a congreagation and grow together.

But on wed nights for the next few weeks at least we are going to be opening up our bibles and looking at maybe a few parable but i know for sure we are going to dive into a True Kingdom Persepective and Learn all we can about the live we live according to the Kingdom God has established FOR US.

So make sure you keep up with our FB page and like and most of all comment on the things we post.

Hebrews 2:10–18 NIV

10 In bringing many sons and daughters to glory, it was fitting that God, for whom and through whom everything exists, should make the pioneer of their salvation perfect through what he suffered. 11 Both the one who makes people holy and those who are made holy are of the same family. So Jesus is not ashamed to call them brothers and sisters. 12 He says, “I will declare your name to my brothers and sisters; in the assembly I will sing your praises.” 13 And again, “I will put my trust in him.” And again he says, “Here am I, and the children God has given me.” 14 Since the children have flesh and blood, he too shared in their humanity so that by his death he might break the power of him who holds the power of death—that is, the devil— 15 and free those who all their lives were held in slavery by their fear of death. 16 For surely it is not angels he helps, but Abraham’s descendants. 17 For this reason he had to be made like them, fully human in every way, in order that he might become a merciful and faithful high priest in service to God, and that he might make atonement for the sins of the people. 18 Because he himself suffered when he was tempted, he is able to help those who are being tempted.

Ive got to drop some knowledge, a little bit of know how really fast about high priest because this is going to come up quiet abit throughtout the book of hebrews so we will take another look at it when we get to chapter 4 and get a better grip or understanding but lets paint a piece of this picture of

Jesus as our High Priest.

Well to understand Jesus as a High priest we must know what in the world that role signifies.\

High priest was the Supreme Religious Ruler head of the Sanhedrin.

Aaron was the first, this line of the Levite tribe.

High Priest could perform regular priestly duties.

Also had to sacrafice animals for self.

Only one to go behind the curtain…be in God’s Glory

Priest would go to the High Priest to know the WIll of God.

COme one because im saying these thigns but we arleady know where im going right.

If not hold on because we gonna get there fast

ONly one who could represent israel on the day of atonement.

Which really fast is

Yon Kippur…Holy Day

A time which is special for the jewish community. That is celebrated by not satisfying earthly desires. Jewish community will still even to this day fast over the 3 day time period.

Back in the day the High Priest would come in perform religous duties in order for the sins of the community to be washed away then he himself as the high priest would come down and sacrafice and confess self sins in order that he may enter into the Holy Place.

But when you have a high priest that is aboce it all, when you have a high priest who lives and dies as the ultimate sacrafice

However Jesus came as was fully human for us.

(high priest of old would prepare a place on sunday mornings that people can find salvation....The high priest would take the sacrafice but was never the sacrafice..Except Jesus walks in the door. We no longer come to find our salvation we come to serve our Savior. We dont come here to consume more of God. We Come here To worship our Savior. He bares the name of Savior. He bears the name that saves, that restores, that heals.

Oh His name Is Jesus.

he created a new way....for us…he created a new way for us.

1 John 2:2 NIV

2 He is the atoning sacrifice for our sins, and not only for ours but also for the sins of the whole world.

High priest brings on Glory.

We have a high priest who is Gods glory

who holds Gods glory

and as we know it is reaching out to his brothers and sisters to give them God’s Glory.

Moses in Ex 33 18-19

Exodus 33:18–19 NIV

18 Then Moses said, “Now show me your glory.” 19 And the Lord said, “I will cause all my goodness to pass in front of you, and I will proclaim my name, the Lord, in your presence. I will have mercy on whom I will have mercy, and I will have compassion on whom I will have compassion.

Moses has this intimate relationship with God you and i could really only dream of. NAd yet moses wanted more of God and it came in his Glory.

In Growing our relationship with GOd we have His glory as pertection around us

Zechariah 2:5 NIV

5 And I myself will be a wall of fire around it,’ declares the Lord, ‘and I will be its glory within.’

Or what about you walking into your divine appointment with GOd.?

Like Isaiah when he was confronted with the glory of God in the throne room,

Upon Isaiah walking into the Glory he instancly became aware of the sinful nature he lived in. Immediately feell and cried out.

Isaiah 6:5 NIV

5 “Woe to me!” I cried. “I am ruined! For I am a man of unclean lips, and I live among a people of unclean lips, and my eyes have seen the King, the Lord Almighty.”

upon that moment an angel of the Lord came with ahot coal form the altar and touched his lips and said your guilt is taken away and your sin atoned for.....a what for …atoned for.

Its gone its washed away. What sin. Its been taken care of brother.

This is the amazing Grace of God, that God in his holiness and majesty even in your sinful state pursues you deeply.

God wants to pour our His spirit to you. He wants to give you the more you are seeking. Whos wants more of God?

Who wants to see stop playing catch up with the devils distractions?

Who wants to go ahead and handle Godly Buisness instead of these problematic systems the enemy keeps twirling us in.

Well it comes in Gods Glory.

See this is available to us. The Glory of God isnt just for the High Priest, or a moment of calling from a prophet like elijah…no the Glory of God is resting in this place this morning. His grace has happened upon us this morning in our cries of worship to our father and God is resting his presense in this place.

And God we cry out Holy Holy Holy are you God!

we want more! We want more Lord.!

We aren’t here today to learn a message we aren’t hear today to receive a word. We just want to sit in your presence God!

God isnt waiting for a certain condition to be met, he isnt waiting on you rto feel ready, or are free of weakenss, or have left the trial God is waiting for you to say “Here i am Lord”

You will have that chance right now. If thats you Idk if we are in the middle of the service if God is calling your right now you run to this alter. you dont think about those next to you. you dont think about those behind you. YOu listen to the voice of God and you come sit in the presense of the Father. Its not my ministering you are waiting for Its for the Father!

Hebrews 2:8–9 NIV

8 and put everything under their feet.”, In putting everything under them, God left nothing that is not subject to them. Yet at present we do not see everything subject to them. 9 But we do see Jesus, who was made lower than the angels for a little while, now crowned with glory and honor because he suffered death, so that by the grace of God he might taste death for everyone.

we do not see everything subject to them.

We dont see everything going on....But we do see Jesus.

The question isnt whats going on. Its what am i not seeing.

The question isnt why cant i make it at this job....iTs God why do you have me here?

The question isnt why would God do this to me…its God how can i give you glory in this pain?

See we keep focusing on the problem. We already covered this a few weeks ago…if we dont focus on Jesus we gonna get distracted…we ggonna procrasinate reading our bibles....and then we gonna wonder why our friends and church are growing past us..

Well have you been seeing Jesus?

We stop playing with these problems…and we start Dealing with the High Priest.

Jesus crowned with glory and honor.

Why? Because he suffered death.

This is where we are gonna be for just a few minutes. Because if we dont understand suffering… we deteriorate our faith.. our hearts grow weary and we fall away.

If we dont understand Suffering we leave the faith.

Faith without works is dead.

James 2:26 NIV

26 As the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without deeds is dead.

We expect Glory without suffering. We must understand suffering.

Suffering stinks.

To barely get by, to not know the next step.

See this is the thing when it comes to God today. We this we im talking about isnt we as the church. its we as americans.

I love this country. I love our rights, our freedoms, the privileges..But we are a practical country.

I believe in God but im not the type of religious person who goes to church who believes in the fairytale Jesus born in a stable with a donkey..that nooo im not stupid…I cant believe God with all the power he has had to have himself born in a stable it wouldnt have been comfortable.

We dont want this poor jesus being born in the dirt.

We want Captain America.

In so we want a practical God.

We are Americans. We want Captain America. This brave solider with Morals, Strength, Beauty, and a cool toy we can carry around.

America wants the Fame and the Gifts.

American Church wants the Glory and the Holy Spirit. But we use it as a badge on our facebook page. A distinct like on our wall, we use the holy spirit as a tool to be used when out worlds worth begins to fade away.

So when we follow Jesus and see its not like that....We become defeated. We begin to lack, doubt...

So today! With ALL the time in the world we are going to unpack one of the single handly important topics of the bible.

This defers from mistakes because mistakes aren’t sin. Sin is a choice to do something continually bad.

Mistake will be a bad choice or judgement.

Our Mistakes

1 Peter 2:20 NIV

20 But how is it to your credit if you receive a beating for doing wrong and endure it? But if you suffer for doing good and you endure it, this is commendable before God.

wrong- KJV is faults and the Hebrew word for these words is :hamartano which means to miss the mark.

Imagine a picture of a man with a bow shoot at a target and as he shoots he comes short of it.

Aiming the right way, wanting the right outcome, but just coming shy of this goal.

Many times we have the right intentions in our walk with God, We receive a word. We think its interpreted this way. We pray and think we receive an answer but it was just our excitement.

Our eagerness gets us into troubles at times. ITs in our mistakes that we suffer at times.

If God allowed and in fact used suffering as a means for perfecting the ministry and purpose of Jesus on earth, we ought to consider that God will use suffering as a means of perfecting our ministry and purpose.

Our Courage in the Faith

1 Peter 3:14–15 NIV

14 But even if you should suffer for what is right, you are blessed. “Do not fear their threats; do not be frightened.” 15 But in your hearts revere Christ as Lord. Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have. But do this with gentleness and respect,

You know this verse i use to skip over the whole, and give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have.

Yet listen this is exactly what we talked about is the issue with the Hebrew church at this time, and we can correlate it with the church today.

We dont have the biblical knowledge at times to stand up.

But we have gotten this verse all wrong.

Its not about or asking to quote the entire bible. But to stand up firm in your faith.

We will get critized, we will be hated or have smug looks. But dont let this world who has no vision without its creator involved.

Dont let this world who is lost and fights and quarrels amoung themselves.

Dont let that stop you from standing firm in the Presense of your Savior. FOr standing up for your God.
