Introductory Narrative
Revelation in this message will set straight an age old debate of what came first; the egg or the chicken. Decades have come and gone without resolve given to this very basic question. Amazingly enough, it will encourage you to know that the answer to this question is only a word away; and in fact, we’ve been quoting the answer through our study of scripture. Multiple scripture from the Book of Genesis to the Book Revelations prove the answer to this question.
For instance: Genesis 2:24 reads: “Therefore shall a man leave his father and his mother, and shall cleave unto his wife: and they shall be one flesh.” This scripture describes the man ending his relationship at home with his parents to begin a new relationship and build a new home with his wife. Herein, a “beginning after the end.”
Further in the Book of Genesis we find the Lord having brought an end to all flesh but having spared Noah and his family to reseed the earth with a new population of people able to birth the Lord’s life. Herein, another “beginning after the end.”
Moreover, Moses in the Book of Exodus was inspired of God to end a life of hiding at Median to lead the Hebrew people from an extreme life of slavery in Egypt to a new life in the Promised Land. Herein, still another “beginning after the end.”
The chicken is a picture of the cycle of reproduction having been completed. The picture of the chicken represents an END. The egg is produced from an adult chicken and is therefore a picture of the start of the process of reproduction. The egg represents the BEGINNING. We are coming to understand, through the prophetic, that to accomplish a successful beginning, one must draw from spiritual animation a telegenic image from some ending. Without the END there will be no foundation to develop and execute a plan that initiates the motion to solidify even the essence of an opportunity to begin.
Genesis 1:27 reads: “So God created man in His own image, in the image of God created Him, male and female created He them ...”. He first creates both male and female in an adult form, in a completed state. Then in Genesis 1:28 he gives the male and female instruction to “Be fruitful and multiply ...” That is “to have children to populate the earth.
In lieu of the aforementioned, with all considerations in forming a hypothesis framed as systematic expression proven through scientific method, the Chicken is first, with some “Cock-a-doodle-doing” Rooster in the backdrop; then comes the egg; and thus, our problem solved.
Exegesis: Acts 1:4, 10-11
Exegesis: Acts 1:4, 10-11
Preceding the action of our text, we find Jesus hanging on Calvary’s Cross. Of His verbiage on the cross He utters, “It is FINISHED!” The scripture describes His giving of the Holy Ghost to our Father then dying on the cross. His death was the passageway to Hell where our Father takes over His body to destroy the Devil, according to Hebrews 2:14. Now, I’m going to need you to “step with a little out the box on this one”: the resurrection of Jesus is His having been ‘Born-again’ out of the earth. Proceeding resurrection Jesus receives all POWER according to Matthew 28:18. Power is interpreted as ‘Instruction’.
Jesus having been giving all instruction in both heaven and earth signaled that “the kingdoms of this world have become the Kingdoms of our Lord and of His Christ ...” according to Daniel’s vision at Daniel 7:15-28 and the action in our text of this message that are summarized in the Book of Revelation 11:15.
Jesus begins to immediately take charge of His Kingship in Acts 1:4 by instructing the assembly to remain in Jerusalem until they receive the promise of the Father which is for them the Holy Ghost who provides eternal instruction to all citizens of His dear Kingdom.
Let us read again Acts 1:10-11 “And while they looked stedfastly toward heaven as he went up, behold, two men stood by them in white apparel; Which also said, Ye men of Galilee, why stand ye gazing up into heaven? this same Jesus, which is taken up from you into heaven, shall so come in like manner as ye have seen him go into heaven.” This scripture describes for us the manner in which we can expect Jesus to return. According to the two men in white apparel, we should expect Jesus’ return in the same manner that He left. Since they witnessed Jesus disappearing into heaven from among them; we should expect His return as He reappears in us.
Points
Points
As we move into the direction of the close of this message, let us observe just two important points. The first point instructs that we should Expect Jesus to return. Jesus was born in the earth. Jesus lived in the earth. Jesus died on His cross, hoovering over the earth. Jesus was buried in the earth. Jesus was resurrected onto earth. Jesus is seen disappearing from the earth. And now, these two men in white apparel are speaking words of prophecy as they instruct this assembly to Expect Jesus to return in earth, that is to be resurrected in earthen vessels of the heart.
As I mediate on J’ resurrection in me I’m reminded of an old spiritual that sings “Something in the inside, working on the outside, brought about a change in me!” I can hear the Senior Choir sing with power “Jesus on the inside, working on the outside, brought about a change in me!”
Jesus said “I’m going away to prepare a place for you in my Father’s house.” But Jesus told them to to “Let not your heart be troubled. You believe in God, you believe also in me!” “I will return and receive you unto myself, that where I am you will be there also.”
