Preach the gospel to everyone everywhere!
Matthew 28:18–20 NKJV
18 And Jesus came and spoke to them, saying, “All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth. 19 Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20 teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” Amen.
Don’t just sign people up for the “Christian Religion Club” - create constantly learning & disciplined Christ followers.
Mark 16:15 NKJV
15 And He said to them, “Go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature.
This means anyone & everyone in your sphere.
People you meet in the parking lot. Your classmates at school. People at the gym. EVERYONE!
Is there anyone who should not have the opportunity to receive the gospel?
Don’t wait for someone else to give them the opportunity - Let it be you.
You might try this with your friends:
Ask: Can I share with you what’s been going on in my life?
Then: Tell them the amazing things Jesus has been doing in your life & world.
Your Testimony & your story is POWERFUL!
Revelation 12:11 NKJV
11 And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony, and they did not love their lives to the death.

The Gospel vs. Religion:

Mark 7:9 NKJV
9 He said to them, “All too well you reject the commandment of God, that you may keep your tradition.
Mark 7:13 NKJV
13 making the word of God of no effect through your tradition which you have handed down. And many such things you do.”
Not all religion is the same!
James 1:27 NKJV
27 Pure and undefiled religion before God and the Father is this: to visit orphans and widows in their trouble, and to keep oneself unspotted from the world.
Defiled religion rejects the Lordship of Jesus and crucifies the Messiah for fear of losing control.
The religious leaders of the day, who knew the law better than anyone, killed Jesus - the one who came to fulfil the law & all it’s requirements (Luke 4:29)
Luke 4:20–21 NKJV
20 Then He closed the book, and gave it back to the attendant and sat down. And the eyes of all who were in the synagogue were fixed on Him. 21 And He began to say to them, “Today this Scripture is fulfilled in your hearing.”
When Jesus made this TRUE statement, the religious leaders rejected it and responded by trying to throw Jesus off of the nearby cliff.
Religion is not good news.
Religion is anti-Christ.
Christ is - “The Anointed One & His anointing
Anointing is the burden removing, yoke destroying power of God.
Religion puts people into bondage. Jesus, through the gospel, makes people free.

What is the gospel?

The gospel is the Good News
Luke 4:18–19 NKJV
18 “The Spirit of the Lord is upon Me, Because He has anointed Me To preach the gospel to the poor; He has sent Me to heal the brokenhearted, To proclaim liberty to the captives And recovery of sight to the blind, To set at liberty those who are oppressed; 19 To proclaim the acceptable year of the Lord.”
There is no shortage of Bad News every day!
The Good News is consistent, but it is also specific to every person & their specific life.
God knows YOU as an individual.
Jeremiah 1:5 NKJV
5 “Before I formed you in the womb I knew you; Before you were born I sanctified you; I ordained you a prophet to the nations.”
Matthew 10:30 NKJV
30 But the very hairs of your head are all numbered.
John 1:46–48 NKJV
46 And Nathanael said to him, “Can anything good come out of Nazareth?” Philip said to him, “Come and see.” 47 Jesus saw Nathanael coming toward Him, and said of him, “Behold, an Israelite indeed, in whom is no deceit!” 48 Nathanael said to Him, “How do You know me?” Jesus answered and said to him, “Before Philip called you, when you were under the fig tree, I saw you.”
The Good news to the one who has sinned is that there is someone who is willing to pay the penalty for their sin.
Jesus is the One who paid the penalty for us.
2 Corinthians 5:21 NKJV
21 For He made Him who knew no sin to be sin for us, that we might become the righteousness of God in Him.
This Good News of Jesus’ payment for our sin is like a shower, it must be personally applied!
The good news to the poor is that they don’t have to be poor anymore
The good news to the sick is that Jesus is their healer & they don’t have to be sick anymore
The good news to the brokenhearted, is that Jesus can and wants to bind up their broken heart.
The good news to someone struggling in their mind is that Jesus died so they could have a sound mind in place of a spirit of fear (2 Timothy 1:7).
Romans 10:14–15 NKJV
14 How then shall they call on Him in whom they have not believed? And how shall they believe in Him of whom they have not heard? And how shall they hear without a preacher? 15 And how shall they preach unless they are sent? As it is written: “How beautiful are the feet of those who preach the gospel of peace, Who bring glad tidings of good things!”
There is no question: YOU are called and sent to preach to YOUR sphere of influence.

Just One Thing:

Jesus wants to meet your needs through the gospel & He wants to use you to tell everyone everywhere the Good News that Jesus wants to meet their needs too. Don’t keep the Good News to yourself - it’s Good News - Preach it!

Discussion Questions:

What animal would you most like to eat?
What did you learn about the gospel and/or about religion today?
Please read Mark 7:9-13 and share about an aspect of your life where tradition or religion may have held you back from experiencing what Jesus wants for you according to the Bible (if you don’t have something to share), share a question you have about a religious tradition or custom.
Please share something great that has happened in your life since you started following Jesus Christ. Now think about how you can share that with others in a very natural way & go share it with at least 1 person this week.
