The Truth
Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.
lies vs truth
curse vs blessing
condemn vs encourage
Jesus is the only source of truth
all things are derived from this fundamental position
Renew Your Mind
we are told to renew our mind daily
what is this in real terms, in every day life
it is an attitude of putting on and doing the things of Jesus
Our Life in this World
Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.
this world throws lies and curses our way
even more so when we follow our Lord Jesus
the way to freedom is the way of Jesus
the way of true freedom in life is through the truth of Jesus
prayer, petition and thanksgiving are the keys
know the word of God, know Jesus and actively declare the truth found within
how do we know the truth?
Finally, brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable—if anything is excellent or praiseworthy—think about such things.
these are the things of Christ - who He is in every way
it is thinking about these things
this is the process of taking what we read about Christ and making it what we know about Jesus
what we know must be converted into what we do - are we obedient and consistent with the knowledge of Jesus
Whatever you have learned or received or heard from me, or seen in me—put it into practice. And the God of peace will be with you.
put it into practice is the command
not doing so means there is no benefit from our knowledge
not doing so means the old default remains - that default is based on the devil’s principles
there is a promise of assured outcome
you will have the peace of God with you
a peace that calms every thought, destroys every lie, removes every curse
The Lies of the Devil
You belong to your father, the devil, and you want to carry out your father’s desires. He was a murderer from the beginning, not holding to the truth, for there is no truth in him. When he lies, he speaks his native language, for he is a liar and the father of lies.
pride - you can be like God
doubt - did God really say that
disobedience - you will certainly not die
every thought, every suggestion opposite to the truth of God is sourced from the the devil himself
The Lies of the World
power - true power is by the Holy Spirit
riches - we have every spiritual blessing in Christ
peace in my feelings, my identity - I am the Prince of Peace
The Lies of Self
worthless - sons and daughters of God, brought with the blood of Jesus
inferior - we are royalty , I am who I am in Jesus
mistake - I am made by God and I have purpose
Truth instead of Lies
But when he, the Spirit of truth, comes, he will guide you into all the truth. He will not speak on his own; he will speak only what he hears, and he will tell you what is yet to come.
search for the truth
renew your mind with this truth
speak the truth into existence
actively refute the lie with the truth of God
