MESSAGE NEEDED TODAY

Romans 1:14–17 “14 I am a debtor both to Greeks and to barbarians, both to wise and to unwise. 15 So, as much as is in me, I am ready to preach the gospel to you who are in Rome also. 16 For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ, for it is the power of God to salvation for everyone who believes, for the Jew first and also for the Greek. 17 For in it the righteousness of God is revealed from faith to faith; as it is written, “The just shall live by faith.”

Today, we are living in the last days. In these last days we need a message which will meet the challenges of the times. Just a few weeks ago, I preached on the Times today?

Let us consider “The Message Needed Today.” Is is one of being so positive, cheers, its all good, motivation.........

I. A Scriptural message is needed today, we as preachers, pastors, reverends etc better be preaching what is in scripture.

2 Timothy 4:1–3 Paul tells us in Timothy......”1 I charge you therefore before God and the Lord Jesus Christ, who will judge the living and the dead at His appearing and His kingdom: 2 Preach the word! Be ready in season and out of season. Convince, rebuke, exhort, with all longsuffering and teaching. 3 For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine, but according to their own desires, because they have itching ears, they will heap up for themselves teachers;”

Acts 8:2–5 “2 And devout men carried Stephen to his burial, and made great lamentation over him. 3 As for Saul, he made havoc of the church, entering every house, and dragging off men and women, committing them to prison. 4 Therefore those who were scattered went everywhere preaching the word. 5 Then Philip went down to the city of Samaria and preached Christ to them.”

I want you all to notice something here, in verse 4 we read: 4 Therefore those who were scattered went everywhere preaching the word. It dosen’t say “those who were educated, it dosen’t say those who were elders, or those who prayed everyday, it says that those who were scattered. So anyone with the Holy Spirit can preach, they can tell others about Jesus.

The danger of preaching what is not in the Bible and not preaching what is in the Bible:

Mark 13:9–11 9 “But watch out for yourselves, for they will deliver you up to councils, and you will be beaten in the synagogues. You will be brought before rulers and kings for My sake, for a testimony to them. 10 And the gospel must first be preached to all the nations. 11 But when they arrest you and deliver you up, do not worry beforehand, or premeditate what you will speak. But whatever is given you in that hour, speak that; for it is not you who speak, but the Holy Spirit.

I believe that most of us if not all that are not pastors believe that they are not capable of preaching about Jesus, our Savior. Before I was called to seminary and to the ministry, I had no idea, I was scared, I had no confidence. Why? mainly because I had not been in God’s word. They say when you have to give a talk, a speech, a presentation that the key to confidence it to be over prepared, have the presentation down pat. So many times today people what to just “shoot from the hip”. I tried that once, I failed miserably. If we want to be prepared to tell those around you about Jesus, then be prepared to to it!

II. A dispensational (dispensational) means a belief in a system of historical progression, as revealed in the Bible, consisting of a series of stages in God’s self-revelation and His glories plan of salvation.....This is the type of message is needed today.

Acts 28:30–31 “30 Then Paul dwelt two whole years in his own rented house, and received all who came to him, 31 preaching the kingdom of God and teaching the things which concern the Lord Jesus Christ with all confidence, no one forbidding him.”

The story goes:

Hebrews 1:1–2 1 God, who at various times and in various ways spoke in time past to the fathers by the prophets, 2 has in these last days spoken to us by His Son, whom He has appointed heir of all things, through whom also He made the worlds;”

Without a knowledge of the ages, all will be confusion: This means that if we don’t know what all scripture says, we will continue being lost and confused.

Deuteronomy 5:1–5 “1 And Moses called all Israel, and said to them: “Hear, O Israel, the statutes and judgments which I speak in your hearing today, that you may learn them and be careful to observe them. 2 The Lord our God made a covenant with us in Horeb. 3 The Lord did not make this covenant with our fathers, but with us, those who are here today, all of us who are alive. 4 The Lord talked with you face to face on the mountain from the midst of the fire. 5 I stood between the Lord and you at that time, to declare to you the word of the Lord; for you were afraid because of the fire, and you did not go up the mountain.”

We must begin being familiar with God’s Holy Word Church, we must!

III. A doctrinal or a “teaching” message is needed today wouldn’t you all agree? Every Sunday, I stand up here or somewhere around here (LOL) and preach the message or teach you all about scripture. It’s up to you all to take it and “run” with it right? It’s your place to “dig in” to “dissect”, to “research” what I preach each Sunday. This all turns my message into a learning time for you concerning scripture.

Paul tells us in: Titus 2:1–3 “1 But as for you, speak the things which are proper for sound doctrine: (true doctrine) 2 that the older men be sober, reverent, temperate, sound in faith, in love, in patience; (that the men are behaving properly according to God’s Holy word) 3 the older women likewise, that they be reverent in behavior, not slanderers, not given to much wine, teachers of good things—(like the men, women are to behaving according to God’s instruction).

We cannot be learning all that God has to teach us by showing up on Sunday morning, hearing my message for 30 minutes or so and go your merry way. You all have a job to do, just as I do.

We now know that Doctrine is teaching. The early church had a doctrinal, teaching ministry:

Matthew 28:18–20 “18 And Jesus came and spoke to them, saying, “All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth. 19 Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20 teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” Amen.”

IV. A prophetic message is needed today. This is a message foretelling or prediction of what is to come. Something that is declared by a prophet, especially a divinely inspired prediction, instruction, or exhortation. A divinely inspired utterance or revelation. This is the functions of a prophet in scripture.

2 Peter 1:19–21 tells us: 19 And so we have the prophetic word confirmed, which you do well to heed as a light that shines in a dark place, until the day dawns and the morning star rises in your hearts; 20 knowing this first, that no prophecy of Scripture is of any private interpretation, 21 for prophecy never came by the will of man, but holy men of God spoke as they were moved by the Holy Spirit.

We must be Giving attention to prophecy. It will unfold the plan of God. It will bring light in darkness:

Revelation 1:3 “3 Blessed is he who reads and those who hear the words of this prophecy, and keep those things which are written in it; for the time is near.”

V. A premillennial message is needed today definition.........(pre·mil·len·ni·al·ism) (among some Christian Protestants) the doctrine that the prophesied millennium of blessedness will begin with the imminent Second Coming of Christ. EX. "After the Civil War, a new kind of premillennialism, ‘dispensationalism, ‘gained popularity.’"

Again, we read in Titus 2:12–14, “12 teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly in the present age, 13 looking for the blessed hope and glorious appearing of our great God and Savior Jesus Christ, 14 who gave Himself for us, that He might redeem us from every lawless deed and purify for Himself His own special people, zealous for good works.”

Are you getting this church? We are to be learning, reading, talking to others, teaching.........

To me the Bible is a new book every day, It makes the Bible a new book. It unlocks hidden things. I know I have read certain scriptures 100+ times, then that 101 st time, bang!!! God blesses me with revelation, I get it, I understand it, the Holy Spirit says it’s time to bless me with the wisdom that this scripture is supposed to provide me. It enlightens us.”

VI. A Gospel message is needed today. So.........what is a Gospel message? A Gospel message is the good news concerning the kingdom and name of the Lord Jesus. A Gospel message is important because individuals are saved by the Gospel, by the teaching and reading of the Gospel of Jesus Christ! AMEN???????

We read in Mark 16:15–16 “15 And He said to them, “Go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature. 16 He who believes and is baptized will be saved; but he who does not believe will be condemned.

Acts 20:24 Luke is telling us about his friend Paul saying..... “24 But none of these things move me; nor do I count my life dear to myself, so that I may finish my race with joy, and the ministry which I received from the Lord Jesus, (to tell, to preach, to teach) to the gospel of the grace of God.

AMEN
