King James Version (WordSearch Edition)
1 John 4:18 “There is no fear in love: but perfect love casteth out fear, because fear hath punishment; and he that feareth is not made perfect in love.”
18 There is no fear in love; but perfect love casteth out fear: because fear hath torment. He that feareth is not made perfect in love.

8 I will instruct thee and teach thee in the way which thou shalt go: I will guide thee with mine eye. 9 Be ye not as the horse, or as the mule, which have no understanding: whose mouth must be held in with bit and bridle, lest they come near unto thee. 10 Many sorrows shall be to the wicked: but he that trusteth in the LORD, mercy shall compass him about. 11 Be glad in the LORD, and rejoice, ye righteous: and shout for joy, all ye that are upright in heart.

David is confessing and singing what he came to know and to understand: God our Heavenly Father taught him the way to go, that is, what decisions to make in life; however, now in Christ Jesus, we know and understand: Christ Jesus is the way, the truth, and the life, and this is not--a road map of St. Louis to Albuquerque but is the only road map of life, that is, the way, the truth and the life....
David continues to confess, let me be not as a horse or a mule, for they have no understanding; they are absent of God’s word. Truly a horse and a mule have to have a bit in their mouth and the rider or their guide directs them on the way, a way, on a certain path: such as, let us not go down their it is quick sand; it is poisonous water or it is filth and immoralities. Then, in a last phrase David remind us how, God our Heavenly Father, bridles, and has a bit in the mouth of the enemies of Israel, and if the Jacob-Israelites walk in God’s commandments, statutes, decrees and ordinances that he, God will keep the Israelites enemies bridled and bit-ed, and they will not come near or nigh to them.
Now Christians in this next verse--this is where the devil wants to tempt us and confuse us, but do not let him -- for in consideration, we know the obvious works, of the flesh, are not joy, love, goodness or life but are lust and slavery of the person--to their sin and the wretchedness of abominations. So, David confesses, rightly, that many sorrows shall be to the wicked, but to the person who, that is, trusts in the Lord’s mercy shall encompassed them; it shall surround about, as the air itself surrounds us and allows us to breathe, with the Heavenly Father’s mercy.
King David, the anointed, by Samuel, Confesses the realization of the gladness, in the Lord, and how our souls confess joy in rejoicing and these joys, rejoicing and gladness are for those who are upright in their hearts or as St. Paul says in the righteousness of the Lord God our Heavenly Father, the God of our Lord Christ Jesus; righteousness in the Lord, means, right standing in the Lord Christ Jesus’s way, truth and life.
David sings: Let the heavens rejoice and the earth be glad....
Now, when we are afforded all these things in and from this psalm and if we are baptized in the Holy Spirit, we then are also in the knowledge and understanding, of Christ Jesus’s word, God’s word that will not pass away but is eternal, so we know that there is no fear in love; but perfect love casteth out fear: because fear has torment and punishment. He that feareth is not made perfect in love....
Christians you should also know that the devil cannot interfere or impede God’s word. True, men and women, that is humankind can sinfully give place to the devil, give opportunity to the devil and give room, which we are taught by Saint Paul that we are never to do--such things, but these interference by people, who are knowingly or unknowingly being tools of the devil, will not and cannot stop God’s plan coming about to fruition, for God tells us that his word cannot be made void’ that his word accomplishes what it was set to do: in other words, God our Heavenly Father’s judgment will come and no man or woman, humankind, nor the devil can stop it from coming to be.
In the name of the Lord Christ Jesus let us pray and be thankful. Amen.
