We Believe in the Biblical Family
It is a man and a woman.
It is a man and a woman.
The book of Proverbs is a sort of handbook for managing the family.
· It demonstrated the importance of a strong, cohesive family.
· It points out that the family is the location of instruction. In the NT when the family neglects Godly instruction, the larger family of God picks it up.
· It is the responsibility of the parents to model godly behavior
Children are blessings.
Children are blessings.
· Children are respectful of their parents
· Children are disciplined by their parents
Families are still families even though they aren’t perfect
Families are still families even though they aren’t perfect
· Adam blamed Eve when confronted by God (Gen 3:12).
· Cain and Abel are the first example of sibling rivalry (Gen 4). This is echoed in the relationships of Jacob and Esau, and Joseph and his brothers.
· As a slave, Hagar was a member of the household and subject to the demands of her owners. As a result, she can both bear an heir and be cast out (Gen 16:15; 21:8–20).
· The narratives of Sarah, Rebekah, and Rachel show the enormous pain of barrenness and point to a social pressure for women to bear children.
· The story of Tamar and Judah shows the challenge of fulfilling the Levirate marriage law (Gen 38).[1]
The Biblical Family Models Adoption
The Biblical Family Models Adoption
In the family, life is brought not only to our doorstep, but into our kitchens, bedrooms, and dens. In the family, life is happening all around us, and it begs to be questioned, evaluated, interpreted, and discussed. There is no more consistent, pregnant, dynamic forum for instruction about life than the family, because that is exactly what God designed the family to be, a learning community.[2] ~ Paul David Trip, Pastor

Conclusion
Conclusion
The family is under attack today more than any other time. Teachers report that the greatest problem that is emerging is gender confusion. Hollywood has presented men as incompetent fools. Parents are portrayed as ‘out of touch’ and their wisdom has been discounted. Schools have become targets for cowards.
Before we head outside for food and fun, let’s take a moment to pray for our communities, families and schools.
