Intro to Series
Do we need God in today’s society?
We each answered that question according to our own religious experiences and theological beliefs.
Society proclaims that we don’t need God in today’s day and age, and therefore attempts to fashion itself apart from God, His influence, and His standards.
Jannes and Jambres
Jannes and Jambres were the Egyptian lector-priest who opposed Moses before Pharaoh.
Their presence and sorcery was declaration before Pharaoh that Egyptian culture didn’t need nor needed to heed YHWH.
Today’s Society
Today’s society is very atheistic or agnostic at the least.
Like ancient Egypt, modern society’s “priest” practice their own version of “heku,” i.e. magic, and calls it science.
Modern day scientists attempt to prove through “science” that today’s society doesn’t need nor need to heed YHWH.

Society’s Alternative Reality
Society has attempted to fashion the facts to its reality rather than fashion its reality to the facts.
Through history, society has attempted to dismiss YHWH, His morality, and His pending judgment.
John 3:19–20 (ESV)
And this is the judgment: the light has come into the world, and people loved the darkness rather than the light because their works were evil.
For everyone who does wicked things hates the light and does not come to the light, lest his works should be exposed.
Romans 1:18 (ESV)
For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who by their unrighteousness suppress the truth.
Conclusion
The sinfulness of society testifies of its need for God.
As individuals, when we find ourselves yielding to the lure of sin, we to need to seek a right relationship with the Lord.
