MIRACLE WORKER
W ATER INTO W IN E
John 2:1-12
1 On the third day a wedding took place at Cana in Galilee.
Jesus' mother was there, 2 and Jesus and his disciples
had also been invited to the wedding.
3 When the wine was gone, Jesus' mother said to him, "They have no
more wine."
4 "Dear woman, why do you involve me?" Jesus replied.
"My time has not yet come." 5 His mother
said to the servants, "Do whatever he tells you." 6 Nearby stood six stone water jars, the kind used by the Jews
for ceremonial washing, each holding from twenty to thirty gallons.
7 Jesus said to the servants, "Fill the jars
with water"; so they filled them to the brim.
8 Then he told them, "Now draw some out and take it to the master
of the banquet."
They did so, 9 and the master of the banquet tasted the water that had been turned into wine.
He did not realize where it had come from, though the servants who had drawn the water knew.
Then he called
the bridegroom aside 10 and said, "Everyone brings out the choice wine first and then the cheaper wine after
the guests have had too much to drink; but you have saved the best till now."
11 This, the first of his miraculous
signs, Jesus performed at Cana in Galilee.
He thus revealed his glory, and his disciples put their faith in him.
12
After this he went down to Capernaum with his mother and brothers and his disciples.
There they stayed for a
few days.

Genesis 2:20b-25
20b . . .
But for Adam no suitable helper was found.
21 So the LORD God caused the man to fall into a deep
sleep; and while he was sleeping, he took one of the man's ribs and closed up the place with flesh.
22 Then the
LORD God made a woman from the rib he had taken out of the man, and he brought her to the man.
23 The man
said, "This is now bone of my bones and flesh of my flesh; she shall be called 'woman, ' for she was taken out of
man." 24 For this reason a man will leave his father and mother and be united to his wife, and they will become
one flesh.
25 The man and his wife were both naked, and they felt no shame.

Luke 8:43-48
43 And a woman was there who had been subject to bleeding for twelve years, but no one could heal her.
44
She came up behind him and touched the edge of his cloak, and immediately her bleeding stopped.
45 "Who
touched me?" Jesus asked.
When they all denied it, Peter said, "Master, the people are crowding and pressing
against you."
46 But Jesus said, "Someone touched me; I know that power has gone out from me." 47 Then the
woman, seeing that she could not go unnoticed, came trembling and fell at his feet.
In the presence of all the
people, she told why she had touched him and how she had been instantly healed.
48 Then he said to her,
"Daughter, your faith has healed you.
Go in peace."

Philippians 2:6-8 ESV
6 who, though he was in the form of God, did not count equality with God a thing to be grasped, 7 but emptied
himself, by taking the form of a servant, being born in the likeness of men.
8 And being found in human form,
he humbled himself by becoming obedient to the point of death, even death on a cross.
