I. Revival is For God’s People vs. 14a

A. Revival isn’t for the lost. It’s for the saved. You can’t revive what is dead. Eph. 2:1-2
Ephesians 2:1–2 NASB95
And you were dead in your trespasses and sins, in which you formerly walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, of the spirit that is now working in the sons of disobedience.
B. Why do we need revival if we’re already saved? Because we forget and our love grows cold. (Nehemiah ex. Read parts of 8-9, 13)
C. We don’t lose our salvation, we just get refocused and re-energized. Heb. 9:25
Hebrews 9:25 NASB95
nor was it that He would offer Himself often, as the high priest enters the holy place year by year with blood that is not his own.

II. Revival is A Renewal of Prayer vs. 14b

A. We humble ourselves, when we pray. Part of humbling ourself is confessing sin.
B. Praying for God’s will to be done.
C. Praying for the lost, in such a way that we’re not just doing it by routine anymore.

III. Revival is Getting on God’s Path vs. 14c

A. Seeking God’s Face is praying and doing the will of God. It will absolutely be opposed, but you will prevail if you do not quit. Gal. 6:8-9
Galatians 6:8–9 NASB95
For the one who sows to his own flesh will from the flesh reap corruption, but the one who sows to the Spirit will from the Spirit reap eternal life. Let us not lose heart in doing good, for in due time we will reap if we do not grow weary.
B. Then we see prayers answered!
C. Then we see the backslidden on fire, and the lost saved!
D. Hidden sin will be revealed, and will have to be dealt with biblically, if revival is to continue.
E. Then healing takes place. Relationships restored. Miracles happening.
F. But it all starts with prayer, the Word, and obedience.
