Chapter 9
Make him understand
Explains first
490 years of prophecy
Beautiful prophecy
about Jesus.
But what about
other 1810 years?
Look at that verse again:
Daniel 8:14 (NKJV)
And he said to me, “For two thousand three hundred days; then the _________________ shall be __________________.”

What happens in 2300 years?

Cleansing of Sanctuary
What does that mean?
To understand,
we must study
the sanctuary.

What was the first Jewish Sanctuary like?

Exodus 25:8 (NKJV)
And let them make Me a sanctuary ______________
______________________
_______________________.
What is the purpose of the sanctuary?
What does this tell you about the heart of God?

What key concepts about the sanctuary do we find in the next verse?

Exodus 25:9 (NKJV)
According to all that I show you, that is, the ___________ of the tabernacle and the ____________ of all its furnishings, just so you shall make it.
What is a pattern?

What this earthly sanctuary is patterned after?

Hebrews 8:1–5 (NKJV)
Now this is the main point of the things we are saying: We have such a High Priest, who is seated at the right hand of the throne of the Majesty in the heavens, a Minister of the sanctuary and of the ________ tabernacle which the Lord erected, and not man.
For every high priest is appointed to offer both gifts and sacrifices. Therefore it is necessary that this One also have something to offer. For if He were on earth, He would not be a priest, since there are priests who offer the gifts according to the law; who serve the ___________ and ______________ of the heavenly things, as Moses was divinely instructed when he was about to make the tabernacle. For He said, “See that you make all things according to the ___________________ shown you on the mountain.”
Who is high Priest?
Jesus
Where is He now?
True Tabernacle
Where is that?
heaven
This passage says,
The earthly priests serve
“copy” and “shadow”
of heavenly things.
What does that mean?
What is a copy?
What is a shadow?
Apparently,
The early sanctuary
was just a model
after heavenly.
Interesting,

What did the sanctuary look like?

Hebrews 9:2–5 (NKJV)
For a tabernacle was prepared: the first part, in which was the lampstand, the table, and the showbread, which is called the ___________________; and behind the second veil, the part of the tabernacle which is called the _______________________,
--
which had the golden censer and the ark of the covenant overlaid on all sides with gold, in which were the golden pot that had the manna, Aaron’s rod that budded, and the tablets of the covenant; and above it were the cherubim of glory overshadowing the mercy seat. Of these things we cannot now speak in detail.
Two Rooms
1st - Sanctuary (Holy Place)
2nd - Holiest of All (Most Holy Place)
What is in them?

What did they do at the Sanctuary?

Two main services
Daily Service
Yearly Service.

What was the daily service like?

Leviticus 4:27–29 (NKJV)
‘If anyone of the common people sins unintentionally by doing something against any of the commandments of the Lord in anything which ought not to be done, and is guilty, or if his sin which he has committed comes to his knowledge, then he shall bring as his offering a kid of the goats, a female without blemish, for his sin which he has committed. And he shall lay his ______________________
_____________ of the sin offering, and _______________ the sin offering at the place of the burnt offering.
Who kills the sin offering?
Why?
What does he do
before he kills it?
What is the meaning of that?
What happens next?
Leviticus 4:30 (NKJV)
Then the priest shall take some of its blood with his finger, put it on __________
_______________________, and pour all the remaining blood at the base of the altar.
Poured on earth?
Why?
Sins impact on whole world...
Blood on horns of altar.
Why?
Jeremiah 17:1 (NKJV)
“The sin of Judah is written with a pen of iron;
With the point of a diamond it is engraved
On the tablet of their heart, And on the horns of your altars,
What is the meaning?
Bring sin in...
pollute the sanctuary
needs cleansing.

What was the purpose of the yearly service?

Leviticus 16:16 (NKJV)
So he shall make _____________ for the Holy Place, because of the ______________ of the children of Israel, and because of their transgressions, for all their ___________; and so he shall do for the tabernacle of meeting which remains among them in the midst of their uncleanness.
Make atonement
Cleansing
Cleaning of Sins
Washing Blood

--
And you shall do _____ _________ on that same day, for it is the Day of Atonement, to make atonement for you before the Lord your God. For any person who is not afflicted in soul on that same day shall be _________ ________ from his people. And any person who does any work on that same day, that person I will destroy from among his people.
--
You shall do no manner of work; it shall be a statute forever throughout your generations in all your dwellings. It shall be to you a sabbath of solemn rest, and you shall afflict your souls; on the ninth day of the month at evening, from evening to evening, you shall celebrate your sabbath.”

How does this answer the timeline of the 2300 year prophecy?

Did people in 1844 understand this prophecy and where they lived on the prophetic timeline?

Yes. They studied this passage:
Revelation 14:6–7 (NKJV)
Then I saw another angel flying in the midst of heaven, having the everlasting gospel to preach to those who dwell on the earth—to every nation, tribe, tongue, and people—saying
--
with a loud voice, “Fear God and give glory to Him, for the hour of His judgment has come; and worship Him who made heaven and earth, the sea and springs of water.”
In the early 1800’s, believers of many faiths (Catholic, Anglican, Baptist, Jewish Christian, etc.) studied prophecy and independently discovered the 2,300-year prophecy would soon be fulfilled. This conviction started a revival that swept the world.
We are in last days...
But that was too long ago...
Remember Noah:
How long preached?
120 years...
“Last Days for them...”
