Introduction:
Set up scene for Unbroken 2 and then play 3 minute video.
As we continue the Outreach series, we will be looking at the aspect of forgiveness.
Throughout the night, here is the one thing I want you to hold on to;
“Those who can’t forgive can’t show love.”
(Set up scene of event in Luke 7:36-50)
(Prayer)
Dinner Time With Jesus:
“The woman” = Mary, sister of Lazarus.
The Pharisee was upset about this event.
Jesus Asks A Question:
The Importance of Forgiveness:
1.) Forgiveness takes humility.
(On both ends)
2.) “People who have a hard time forgiving others have a hard time forgiving themselves.”
(Example: Personal Example-Past year of counseling to win the battle over anxiety.
My anxiety came from a lack of forgiving others.)
Unresolved Forgiveness Leads To Bitterness and Destruction
Conclusion:
“Those who can’t forgive can’t show love.”
Showing forgiveness is important as we share the good news of Jesus Christ.
Our Greatest Need:
“If our greatest need had been information, God would have sent us an educator;
If our greatest need had been technology, God would have sent us a scientist;
If our greatest need had been money, God would have sent us an economist;
If our greatest need had been pleasure, God would have sent us an entertainer;
But our greatest need was forgiveness, so God sent us The Saviour.”
