Ephesians 2:11–22 (KJV 1900)
Wherefore remember, that ye being in time past Gentiles in the flesh, who are called Uncircumcision by that which is called the Circumcision in the flesh made by hands;
That at that time ye were without Christ, being aliens from the commonwealth of Israel, and strangers from the covenants of promise, having no hope, and without God in the world:
But now in Christ Jesus ye who sometimes were far off are made nigh by the blood of Christ.
For he is our peace, who hath made both one, and hath broken down the middle wall of partition between us;
Having abolished in his flesh the enmity, even the law of commandments contained in ordinances; for to make in himself of twain one new man, so making peace;
And that he might reconcile both unto God in one body by the cross, having slain the enmity thereby:
And came and preached peace to you which were afar off, and to them that were nigh.
For through him we both have access by one Spirit unto the Father.
Now therefore ye are no more strangers and foreigners, but fellowcitizens with the saints, and of the household of God;
And are built upon the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Jesus Christ himself being the chief corner stone;
In whom all the building fitly framed together groweth unto an holy temple in the Lord:
In whom ye also are builded together for an habitation of God through the Spirit.
11 Wherefore remember, that ye being in time past Gentiles in the flesh, who are called Uncircumcision by that which is called the Circumcision in the flesh made by hands; 12 That at that time ye were without Christ, being aliens from the commonwealth of Israel, and strangers from the covenants of promise, having no hope, and without God in the world: 13 But now in Christ Jesus ye who sometimes were far off are made nigh by the blood of Christ. 14 For he is our peace, who hath made both one, and hath broken down the middle wall of partition between us; 15 Having abolished in his flesh the enmity, even the law of commandments contained in ordinances; for to make in himself of twain one new man, so making peace; 16 And that he might reconcile both unto God in one body by the cross, having slain the enmity thereby: 17 And came and preached peace to you which were afar off, and to them that were nigh. 18 For through him we both have access by one Spirit unto the Father. 19 Now therefore ye are no more strangers and foreigners, but fellowcitizens with the saints, and of the household of God; 20 And are built upon the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Jesus Christ himself being the chief corner stone; 21 In whom all the building fitly framed together groweth unto an holy temple in the Lord:

Kingdom Citizenship

The word Commonwealth means “the body of citizens of a state or country.”
Matthew 4:17
Matthew 4:17 AV 1873
From that time Jesus began to preach, and to say, Repent: for the kingdom of heaven is at hand.
17 From that time Jesus began to preach, and to say, Repent: for the kingdom of heaven is at hand.
Matthew 5:3
Matthew 5:3 AV 1873
Blessed are the poor in spirit: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
3 Blessed are the poor in spirit: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
Matthew 5:10
Matthew 5:10 AV 1873
Blessed are they which are persecuted for righteousness’ sake: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.

Matthew 5:20
Matthew 5:20 AV 1873
For I say unto you, That except your righteousness shall exceed the righteousness of the scribes and Pharisees, ye shall in no case enter into the kingdom of heaven.
20 For I say unto you, That except your righteousness shall exceed the righteousness of the scribes and Pharisees, ye shall in no case enter into the kingdom of heaven.
Jesus spoke parables about the kingdom of heaven. Matt 13 He said the Kingdom is like a man which sowed good seed in his filed but the enemy sowed tares among the wheat.
It is also like a grain of mustard seed that is the least of the herbs but grows up to be like a tree. Like leaven hid in three measures of meal.
Like a treasure hid in a field.
Like a merchant man seeking goodly pearls.
Like a net cast into the sea and gathers every kind of fish.
Matthew 18:4
Matthew 18:4 AV 1873
Whosoever therefore shall humble himself as this little child, the same is greatest in the kingdom of heaven.
4 Whosoever therefore shall humble himself as this little child, the same is greatest in the kingdom of heaven.
Matthew 19:14
14 But Jesus said, Suffer little children, and forbid them not, to come unto me: for of such is the kingdom of heaven.
Matthew 19:23
23 Then said Jesus unto his disciples, Verily I say unto you, That a rich man shall hardly enter into the kingdom of heaven.

Aliens to the Covenants

The covenants Paul is referring to are those between God and the nation of Israel. Starting with Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob.
Acts 7:8
Acts 7:8 AV 1873
And he gave him the covenant of circumcision: and so Abraham begat Isaac, and circumcised him the eighth day; and Isaac begat Jacob; and Jacob begat the twelve patriarchs.
8 And he gave him the covenant of circumcision: and so Abraham begat Isaac, and circumcised him the eighth day; and Isaac begat Jacob; and Jacob begat the twelve patriarchs.
The Mosaic covenant

1 Samuel 13:13
1 Samuel 13:13 AV 1873
And Samuel said to Saul, Thou hast done foolishly: thou hast not kept the commandment of the Lord thy God, which he commanded thee: for now would the Lord have established thy kingdom upon Israel for ever.
13 And Samuel said to Saul, Thou hast done foolishly: thou hast not kept the commandment of the Lord thy God, which he commanded thee: for now would the Lord have established thy kingdom upon Israel for ever.
Circumcision was a requirement for Abraham’s covenant. This covenant was not a means to salvation but a sign to God of the separation of a people from the other nations.
Every nation and every person outside of these covenants would be considered an alien, apallotriomenoi, to be or become considered foreign and consequently separate from another country or citizenry.
Ephesians 4:17–18
Ephesians 4:17–18 AV 1873
This I say therefore, and testify in the Lord, that ye henceforth walk not as other Gentiles walk, in the vanity of their mind, having the understanding darkened, being alienated from the life of God through the ignorance that is in them, because of the blindness of their heart:
17 This I say therefore, and testify in the Lord, that ye henceforth walk not as other Gentiles walk, in the vanity of their mind, 18 Having the understanding darkened, being alienated from the life of God through the ignorance that is in them, because of the blindness of their heart:

21 And you, that were sometime alienated and enemies in your mind by wicked works, yet now hath he reconciled
Jesus warns the Jews who were had the lineage of Abraham, and some even Judah and David that they were too aliens and if they did not receive Him they would be eternally alienated from God.
Matthew 25:40–41
Matthew 25:40–41 AV 1873
And the King shall answer and say unto them, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto me. Then shall he say also unto them on the left hand, Depart from me, ye cursed, into everlasting fire, prepared for the devil and his angels:
40 And the King shall answer and say unto them, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto me. 41 Then shall he say also unto them on the left hand, Depart from me, ye cursed, into everlasting fire, prepared for the devil and his angels:

The Naturalization Process

America has a ten step process including a determination on whether or not a person is eligible. Filling out the N-400 form. Taking the U.S. Naturalization test and a personal interview.
In Paul’s day becoming a Roman citizen was not as easy as it is today. Most would never become naturalized citizens of Rome. They would enjoy much of the rights citizens did but would be unable to vote, they would suffer heavy taxes at the whim of the Roman government, they could be relocated at a moments notice without reimbursement of things left behind. They could never truly own property. They could be used as slaves for the Roman soldiers.

8 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: 9 Not of works, lest any man should boast.
Romans 2:25–29
25 For circumcision verily profiteth, if thou keep the law: but if thou be a breaker of the law, thy circumcision is made uncircumcision. 26 Therefore if the uncircumcision keep the righteousness of the law, shall not his uncircumcision be counted for circumcision? 27 And shall not uncircumcision which is by nature, if it fulfil the law, judge thee, who by the letter and circumcision dost transgress the law? 28 For he is not a Jew, which is one outwardly; neither is that circumcision, which is outward in the flesh: 29 But he is a Jew, which is one inwardly; and circumcision is that of the heart, in the spirit, and not in the letter; whose praise is not of men, but of God.
Galatians 5:6
Galatians 5:6 AV 1873
For in Jesus Christ neither circumcision availeth any thing, nor uncircumcision; but faith which worketh by love.

giving thanks unto the Father, which hath made us meet to be partakers of the inheritance of the saints in light: who hath delivered us from the power of darkness, and hath translated us into the kingdom of his dear Son: in whom we have redemption through his blood, even the forgiveness of sins:
12 Giving thanks unto the Father, which hath made us meet to be partakers of the inheritance of the saints in light: 13 Who hath delivered us from the power of darkness, and hath translated us into the kingdom of his dear Son: 14 In whom we have redemption through his blood, even the forgiveness of sins:
Your Kingdom citizenship has already been fulfilled. You simply need to believe that Jesus has saved you through the payment of His blood and confirmed by His resurrection.
