One writer said, “The God of your heart is what your mind endlessly runs to when nothing else is occupying you time.”
But what if, for a moment we shifted our identity from the things we thought made us who we are and started focusing on the ONE who created us, the ONE who’s image we have been created in.
What if we invested as much time pursuing our identity in Christ as we did those things we think create our identity.
God does not shape us by what we do or even how we identify but ultimately, He shapes us by his sovereign will and plan.
Does your relationship with Jesus outweigh the notable accolades that you have built for yourself? Is Jesus first?
A few questions to consider:
How important is my relationship with Jesus?
Does Christ have first priority in my life?
Are there things in my life getting in the way of serving Jesus?
Why does Paul mention the resurrection? Why is it important?
Because without the resurrection our faith is void! The power in the resurrection symbolizes that Jesus have authority over death, hell and the grave (1 Cor. 15:13-15).
Why is suffering a prominent factor for Paul when considering intimately knowing Christ.
As bearers of the cross we will suffer for our faith.
Jesus’ death was one of humility!
If your identity is founded in the temporal things of this world, you will never experience true joy, peace and happiness. Only true joy can be found in Jesus!
