Psalm 86
A Prayer of David
Message 1
The Poor in Spirit
Me:

A Praying Pastor

a. When I can’t pray
i. For several weeks we spent time in Romans 8
ii. The famous and often used verse is v:28
iii. “And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him”
iv. I like it, But I feel in love with another passage
Romans 8:26 NCV
Also, the Spirit helps us with our weakness. We do not know how to pray as we should. But the Spirit himself speaks to God for us, even begs God for us with deep feelings that words cannot explain.
b. Praying for a sick loved one
i. How do you pray for the right thing to comfort the family?
ii. You let the Holy Spirit pray.
iii. But to get here we must prepare our hearts
We:

We Must Prepare to Pray

a. Remove the hindrances

Sin

ii. 1 John 2:16 (NASB 2020) — 16 For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh and the lust of the eyes and the boastful pride of life, is not from the Father, but is from the world.
1 John 2:16 NASB 2020
For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh and the lust of the eyes and the boastful pride of life, is not from the Father, but is from the world.
iii. These things hinder our prayers
iv. None of us are immune
v. Let us search our hearts
b. How do we get ready to worship and pray
We fix our heart on Christ
We open our mind to His word
Remember the gospel that saved your soul
Empty ourselves of things of the world
Be ready to respond in faith
Not my will but yours Lord
Pray for your church family
c. Look at a prayer that moved mountains
God:
