Philippians 1:1-2; Peace or Strife

The gospel faces persecution from the magistrates. Eventually, the church will have division amongst themselves (Euodia and Syntyche).

Paul and Timothy

They are δοῦλος to Christ Jesus.

They have a spiritual father/son relationship. (2:19-24)

Christ and the Church

Because of the work of Christ on our behalf, we are found holy (ἅγιος) in Christ Jesus.

We have peace with God!

If we are not in Christ, we have God’s condemnation. (3:17-18)
