One of the arguments that Paul continues to make, is that Israel's rejection of the Gospel does not actually remove its truth and necessity. God was not rejecting Israel, otherwise, Paul himself would not have been saved. Israel however, neglected and rejected the things of God, just as professing Christians do today.
