Are Christians fundamentally homophobic? On the surface it may seem difficult to even gain an answer, for churches across the Western world have certainly responded to this contentious issue in a variety of ways. And yet, there really is a way forward. A way forward paved by Jesus himself that takes the heat out of the discussion. A way forward that provides an answer to our culture that is not only a challenge, but also profoundly compelling and attractive. An answer found in John 4, where Jesus marvellously displays great generosity and honesty. Not only in his attitude, but also in how he once again displays the beauty and power of the gospel message he came to declare to the world.
