Dear Momma,
I’ve spent the last week reminiscing about all the wonderful memories we had. You were hands down one of the best. You never missed a thing from sporting events, the births of my boys, to every milestone they hit, and you were always their biggest fan in the crowd. I think of our cruises, drink nights or and family gathering, and I just smile. I’m forever grateful for the love you showed your family. I promise we will carry on you Xmas traditions. If you knew mom she was OBSESSED with Christmas. If dad only knew what she spent. Don’t worry Mom, I’ll keep that a secret. I’ll never forget when we were Christmas shopping in Waterloo and you were trying to load a tv in the back of the Kia and you dropped it and said “Well, shit god damn, how did that happen” Pretty sure we were totally crying from laughing.
Thanks for always making your family laugh with your sass and humor. I’ll never forget the time we were in my kitchen and if you knew mom you knew she was proper. Out of nowhere she told Patrick to pull her finger and man she ripped one. Patrick said “Grandma you prob farted out dust: We laughed and laughed and laughed.
You touched everyone you knew from your volunteerism, Clubs, Lake City Group, even up until the end you were the “Boss Lady as the Hospice House. Someone mentioned to me this past week you were a legend & they were right.
So, here’s to you mom. Thank you for all the memories, all the laughs, all the trips, all the talks, and even jumping on hotel beds with me. I’ll sure miss seeing that Kia coming down the road and that bird you liked to flip everyone. In closing I want to say a very special thank you to the 5 ladies that made moms last two years extra special.
Thank you, Andrea Petermeier, Aunt Chris or as mom would say Sis, Felicia Calzada, Olivia Parks and Joy Pieri. She adored you ladies so very much.
Love you forever and always your Nick
