The bible tells us all about the good and holy nature of God.
6 Then the Lord passed by in front of him and proclaimed, “The Lord, the Lord God, compassionate and merciful, slow to anger, and abounding in faithfulness and truth;
34 Give thanks to the Lord, for He is good; For His faithfulness is everlasting.
11 And they sang, praising and giving thanks to the Lord, saying, “For He is good, for His favor is upon Israel forever.” And all the people shouted with a great shout of joy when they praised the Lord, because the foundation of the house of the Lord was laid.
8 The Lord is good and upright; Therefore He instructs sinners in the way.
9 The Lord is good to all, And His mercies are over all His works.
18 But Jesus said to him, “Why do you call Me good? No one is good except God alone.
This but the smallest of scripture sampelings that proclaim the goodness, kindness and mercyful nature of the Lord.
Of course in addition to God being the highest good, God is also Holy.
2 “There is no one holy like the Lord, Indeed, there is no one besides You, Nor is there any rock like our God.
3 And one called out to another and said, “Holy, Holy, Holy, is the Lord of armies. The whole earth is full of His glory.”
11 “Who is like You among the gods, Lord? Who is like You, majestic in holiness, Awesome in praises, working wonders?
Again a small sampeling.
Another charicteristic of God whiuch is vital for this discussion is God’s nature as it refers to His power.
5 Great is our Lord and abundant in strength; His understanding is infinite.
17 ‘Oh, Lord God! Behold, You Yourself have made the heavens and the earth by Your great power and by Your outstretched arm! Nothing is too difficult for You,
2 “I know that You can do all things, And that no plan is impossible for You.
Also vital to this discussion is the self-existant eternality of God.
2 Before the mountains were born Or You gave birth to the earth and the world, Even from everlasting to everlasting, You are God.
27 “The eternal God is a hiding place, And underneath are the everlasting arms; And He drove out the enemy from you, And said, ‘Destroy!’
14 For such is God, Our God forever and ever; He will lead us until death.
What do all these incredible scriptures tells us about God?
1: God is eternal. He has no begining and no end. He, before His act of creation self existed without anyone or anything for He needs noone and nothing for GHis existance.
1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
At the begining of time God already was.
2: God is all powerful. He is eternal both in His existance and in His power.
We often refer to the Moni Nature of God. That He is Omnipotent - All powerful. Omniscient - All knowing and Monipresent - All present.
All this comes together to present us with a God who is truly perfect and limitless in His own existance.
Indeed: What a mighty God we serve!
While we are discussing God we must also mention that God, being all good, has absolutly no evil in Him.
13 No one is to say when he is tempted, “I am being tempted by God”; for God cannot be tempted by evil, and He Himself does not tempt anyone.
14 But each one is tempted when he is carried away and enticed by his own lust.
7 You have loved righteousness and hated wickedness; Therefore God, Your God, has anointed You With the oil of joy above Your companions.
4 For You are not a God who takes pleasure in wickedness; No evil can dwell with You.
God is infinate, limitless, all good, all powerful, all knowing and absolutly perfect is every possible consevabile way.
