Introduction

Shovel

When you appear in the Presence of God

On three different occasions in the year Israel would gather before the Lord and the Instruction that God gave was clear on each of the three occasions Israel was not to appear before the Lord empty-handed. Dt 16:16
Deuteronomy 16:16 LEB
Three times in the year all of your males shall appear before Yahweh your God at the place that he will choose, at the Feast of Unleavened Bread and at the Feast of Weeks and at the Feast of Booths, and they shall not appear before Yahweh empty-handed.
How could God make such an outrageous demand on a group of poor slaves? Where would they get the means to bring generous gifts for worship.
To understand the demand of God we need for first investigate the provision of God. We need to examine this from the benevolence of God. Ex 3:21 “And I will give this people favor in the eyes of the Egyptians, and then when you go, you will not go empty-handed.”
God ensured that the slaves to do leave Egypt empty-handed so on the basis of this provision God makes a demand. It Is God who first made bountiful provision and then made a demand.
Can you honestly say that God has not been good to you?
