Letter from Natalia Ryabyy
you may recall that we raised $5000 for the needs in Ukraine and Natalia recently took those funds to Irpin Bible Church who are on the front lines of assisting those in need and proclaiming the gospel in the midst of the turmoil. Here is some of what Natalia said in her letter:
We also did have an opportunity to visit the Irpin Bible Church and attend one of their Sunday worship services. I gave the letter from our church and the monetary gift to one of the elders, who passed it along to the church secretary/accountant. They asked whether this was for a specific ministry, and I informed them that no, just for general ministry needs for serving those in need. They said that the pastoral committee will decide how to utilize the gift. They were very grateful, as the need is still great – they still provide bread for a number of people every day, house those who lost their homes, and plan to do some construction work to mend houses of those whose houses were damaged (both of those from their congregation and nonbelievers in the community).

After the service, we met up with one of the deacons of the church, Roman Ilnitsky, a very good friend of my uncles, who did not leave Irpin during these almost 6 months of war. He took us to his home, roof of which was partly damaged by a missile, and told us of many blessings he saw during these months, as the Lord guided him and few others from the church that stayed and organized various volunteer ministries within the church, as they housed refugees, provided meals, helped people evacuate. In the beginning, his wife stayed at the church cooking meals, feeding about 300 people each day (eventually she evacuated to Germany with 2 of their kids). Roman drove around the town delivering food/medicine to those unable to leave – elderly, blind, disabled. He picked up people and drove them to the evacuation site at one of the bridges, which then had to be crossed by foot as part of it was destroyed.

Q. What are the decrees of God?
A. The decrees of God are His eternal purpose according to the counsel of His will, whereby, for His own glory, He has foreordained whatsoever comes to pass (Eph. 1:4, 11; Rom. 9:22-23; Is. 46:10; Lam. 3:37).
Q. How does God execute His decrees?
A. God executes his decrees in the works of creation and providence.
Q. What is the work of creation?
A. The triune God, according to His sovereign will, created out of nothing and out of things that He had made, the worlds and all that is in them. He is the Governor and Upholder of the creation by His wisdom and by the Word of His Mighty power. (Gen. 1 throughout; Heb. 11:3).
