Romans 10:13–14 NIV
for, “Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.” How, then, can they call on the one they have not believed in? And how can they believe in the one of whom they have not heard? And how can they hear without someone preaching to them?
The majority of people in our community aren’t in church.
And I believe the majority of people in our community don’t really know the good news of the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
That He died to save them from their sins, that they can live forever, AND that they can live ABOVE the power of sin and be free from it’s bondage.
Many think church people are full of a bunch of fakes who aren’t nice people, who live just like them and they even see some church people even act worse than someone those who’ve never been in church.
That’s why it’s so important that true Christians stand up and preach the Gospel message—with our words AND our lives— to a world that desperately needs to hear it.
How are they going to hear unless we tell them?
We’re going to watch a video called “Mastering Our Message.”
Mastering the basics of explaining the Gospel to someone else is an essential skill for sharing with others. To help us learn the basics, we’re using a simple, six-letter acrostic that spells out the word Gospel. It goes like this:
God created us to be with Him.
Our sins separate us from God.
Sins cannot be removed by good deeds.
Paying the price for sin, Jesus died and rose again.
Everyone who trusts in Him alone has eternal life.
Life with Jesus starts now and lasts forever.
This acrostic isn’t intended to be a “presentation” that we just rattle off at someone. Think of it more as a “trail map” you can refer to that will help you cover the core truths someone needs to understand to make an informed decision about trusting in Christ. Sharing our faith with others should always be a conversation, not a presentation!
