Read Eph 6 10-18
Finally, be strong in the Lord and in the strength of His might. Put on the full armor of God, so that you will be able to stand firm against the schemes of the devil. For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the powers, against the world forces of this darkness, against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places. Therefore, take up the full armor of God, so that you will be able to resist in the evil day, and having done everything, to stand firm. Stand firm therefore, having girded your loins with truth, and having put on the breastplate of righteousness, and having shod your feet with the preparation of the gospel of peace; in addition to all, taking up the shield of faith with which you will be able to extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one. And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God. With all prayer and petition pray at all times in the Spirit, and with this in view, be on the alert with all perseverance and petition for all the saints,
We have looked at this text over the last 2 weeks so far we have covered
1.The Preparation: Strength in the Lord
Basic to the effective Christian life is preparation. The unprepared believer becomes the defeated believer who seeks to serve the Lord in their own wisdom and power. The strength of the Christian life is dependence on God, being strong
Apart from him the Christian can do nothing
2. The Provision: Give by God to His Faithful which is The Armor of God His Armor for us
WE talked about how this must be put on permanently not taken off like a uniform
For we are in a war a terrible war the worst of wars where the enemy is as dark as they come never sleeping or resting but always seeking out whom he may devour
Be of sober spirit, be on the alert. Your adversary, the devil, prowls around like a roaring lion, seeking someone to devour. But resist him, firm in your faith, knowing that the same experiences of suffering are being accomplished by your brethren who are in the world.
3. The Enemy: Satan
The Battle: Against Demons
“Resist the devil and he will flee from you” (James 4:7).
Schemes Of The Devil
Quran
the difference between satan and God are many. But when it comes to what they offer its simple. God tells you to count the Cost before He shows you what He offers for a natural man cannot see not discern the things of God. He tells you of what it will Cost you then He shows you the promise. Where Satan shows you the gifts without showing you what it will cost you.
Many are lured by the gifts like Judas 30 piece of silver but for the few that are His . They will find the everlasting gift in Him
Now I, Paul, myself urge you by the meekness and gentleness of Christ—I who am meek when face to face with you, but bold toward you when absent! I ask that when I am present I need not be bold with the confidence with which I propose to be courageous against some, who regard us as if we walked according to the flesh. For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war according to the flesh, for the weapons of our warfare are not of the flesh, but divinely powerful for the destruction of fortresses. We are destroying speculations and every lofty thing raised up against the knowledge of God, and we are taking every thought captive to the obedience of Christ, and we are ready to punish all disobedience, whenever your obedience is complete.
4. WE discussed how The Victory comes by In Standing Firm in Him
Today we are going to look at the armor and what is it. We have talked about the need for it but what is it really
Some people think its a mystical thing a imaginary force we put on by the way of prayer, some people think that its a armor we activate by prayer and reading of the word.
Let no one deceive you its not a mystical thing that you cannot grasp, God is not the author of confusion he has not cloaked your greatest defence against His greatest adversary He has given you the secret of this armor right here in the text so let us turn to it and see. it is a way of life not a mystical force. lets look to the text.
Therefore, take up the full armor of God, so that you will be able to resist in the evil day, and having done everything, to stand firm.
First of All in Verse 13 it tells us to take up the Full come on say it with so you wont forget Full Armor of God
To be full is to be complete
completely covered as one is immersed as baptism is a symbolic representative of immersion of water we are immersed into Him
Remember In was a big word over the last few weeks
why look at vs 10
Ephesians 6:10 (NASB95)
Finally, be strong in the Lord and in the strength of His might
WE remain in Him with His full armor so that we can stand firm against the attacks of the devil
So that you can withstand the attacks of the enemy
Some of you are loosing the battle because you have a piece but not the whole armor
lets continue
vs 14
Stand firm therefore, having girded your loins with truth, and having put on the breastplate of righteousness,
1. Loins in Truth
This is being truthful not living a lie not being a liar a habitual story teller not one that cannot be trust but rather one can trust
A false witness will not go unpunished, And he who tells lies will perish.
John 8:44 (NASB95)
“You are of your father the devil, and you want to do the desires of your father. He was a murderer from the beginning, and does not stand in the truth because there is no truth in him. Whenever he speaks a lie, he speaks from his own nature, for he is a liar and the father of lies.
Do not lie to one another, since you laid aside the old self with its evil practices,
Lying lips are an abomination to the Lord, But those who deal faithfully are His delight.
2. Breastplate of Righteousness
He who pursues righteousness and loyalty Finds life, righteousness and honor.
What is Righteousness?
What is Righteousness?
What does it mean to be righteous? To be righteous means to follow the correct path or do what is right and stand by it. It can also refer to a state of being morally virtuous
This is impossible without God for anyone
But He said, “The things that are impossible with people are possible with God.”
He made Him who knew no sin to be sin on our behalf, so that we might become the righteousness of God in Him.
Because God is a holy God, He cannot be in fellowship if sin overtakes us. The only way we can have a relationship with God is if we are blessed and blameless ourselves. And how is that possible? Through our Lord Jesus Christ.
Then and only than can we pursue His righteousness
For in Him we can do all things
Behold what manner of love the Father has bestowed on us, that we should be called children of God! Therefore the world does not know us, because it did not know Him. Beloved, now we are children of God; and it has not yet been revealed what we shall be, but we know that when He is revealed, we shall be like Him, for we shall see Him as He is. And everyone who has this hope in Him purifies himself, just as He is pure.
If we have food and covering, with these we shall be content. But those who want to get rich fall into temptation and a snare and many foolish and harmful desires which plunge men into ruin and destruction. For the love of money is a root of all sorts of evil, and some by longing for it have wandered away from the faith and pierced themselves with many griefs. But flee from these things, you man of God, and pursue righteousness, godliness, faith, love, perseverance and gentleness.
And the seed whose fruit is righteousness is sown in peace by those who make peace.
“Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they shall be satisfied.
“But seek first His kingdom and His righteousness, and all these things will be added to you.
“I like your Christ, I do not like your Christians. Your Christians are so unlike your Christ.”
― Mahatma Gandhi
We must seek to be pure for He is pure to be holy for He is holy that we ourselves would be a testament a good testament to Christ.
3. Covered your feet with the preparation of the Gospel
and, as shoes for your feet, having put on the readiness given by the gospel of peace.
fulfilling the great commission
we should not just send money to missionaries this is not what jesus commanded yes the churches did send and support them but jesus commanded every believer
“Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.”
A True Born again Christ loving Spirit filled and led Christian who has taken this war seriously this war for our souls and the souls of all they love will and cannot help but to tell others about Christ
Revelation 19:6–10 (NASB95)
Then I heard something like the voice of a great multitude and like the sound of many waters and like the sound of mighty peals of thunder, saying, “Hallelujah! For the Lord our God, the Almighty, reigns. “Let us rejoice and be glad and give the glory to Him, for the marriage of the Lamb has come and His bride has made herself ready.” It was given to her to clothe herself in fine linen, bright and clean; for the fine linen is the righteous acts of the saints. Then he said to me, “Write, ‘Blessed are those who are invited to the marriage supper of the Lamb.’ ” And he said to me, “These are true words of God.” Then I fell at his feet to worship him. But he said to me, “Do not do that; I am a fellow servant of yours and your brethren who hold the testimony of Jesus; worship God. For the testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy.”
“Arrogance is someone claiming to have come to Christ, but they won't spend more than five minutes listening to your journey because they are more concerned about their own well being, rather than being a true disciple of Christ. Blessed is the person that takes the time to heal and hear another person so they can move on.”
― Shannon L. Alder
After WW2 in a book Joel Rosenburg quoted a conversation he had
The question shouldn't be "Why are you, a Christian, here in a death camp, condemned for trying to save Jews?' The real question is "Why aren't all the Christians here?”
― Joel C. Rosenberg, The Auschwitz Escape
4. Above All The Shield of Faith
above all, taking the shield of faith with which you will be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked one.
Why is this higher that the others, Even the helmet of salvation
The word “faith” occurs 514 times in the Bible
because faith gives us access to salvation Faith comes first therefore it is of the upmost importance
Ephesians 2:8–9 (NASB95)
For by grace you have been saved through faith; and that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God; not as a result of works, so that no one may boast.
Hebrews 11:6 (NASB95)
And without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is and that He is a rewarder of those who seek Him.
for we walk by faith, not by sight—
Galatians 2:16 (NASB95)
nevertheless knowing that a man is not justified by the works of the Law but through faith in Christ Jesus, even we have believed in Christ Jesus, so that we may be justified by faith in Christ and not by the works of the Law; since by the works of the Law no flesh will be justified.
“I have been crucified with Christ; and it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself up for me.
What is Faith
Definition is found in Hebrews 11:1
Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.

Faith helps to quench ALL the Fiery darts of the wicked one for we know God has it all figured out
And we know that God causes all things to work together for good to those who love God, to those who are called according to His purpose.
5. Helmet of Salvation
This helmet I suppose
Was meant to ward off blows
It’s very hot and weighs a lot
So off this helmet goes, so off this helmet goes.
But what is the proper equipment needed to face life? The answer depends on what you expect life to be like. Many people, including Christians, expect life to be a walk in the park. Because that is their expectation, they’re mentally dressed accordingly, in a t-shirt and shorts, with flimsy flip-flops on their feet. They aren’t alert and on guard, moment by moment expecting the assault of a powerful adversary. Instead, they’re sauntering through their days, carelessly enjoying the sunshine, not dressed in proper spiritual safety gear.
for Me my helmet saved my life in Iraq
Over 95% of cyclists that lost their lives in texas weren’t wearing helmets
In the last 20 years, over 25,000 lives have been saved by helmets
In 2020, almost 70% of US motorcyclists wore helmets
Helmets save lives and The Helmet of Gods armor is no different but 100% of those who were their helmet shall live
In order to put it on, you first need to know what this helmet is. Like the breastplate of righteousness, this piece of armor is borrowed directly from the description of the divine warrior
Isaiah 59:17
He put on righteousness like a breastplate, And a helmet of salvation on His head; And He put on garments of vengeance for clothing And wrapped Himself with zeal as a mantle.
In fact, God’s righteousness and his people’s salvation occur together frequently in Isaiah. God’s righteousness—his reliable commitment to fulfill all his promises to his people—means he must act to deliver them from all their enemies, including the greatest enemy of all—their sin, and the separation from God it causes.
This firm promise of God provides the basis for their secure hope amid life’s trials and difficulties. That is why in 1 Thessalonians 5:8, Paul describes this piece of armor more fully as the “helmet of the hope of salvation.” The Christian’s helmet is his or her sure hope of salvation.
1 Thessalonians 5:8 (NASB95)
But since we are of the day, let us be sober, having put on the breastplate of faith and love, and as a helmet, the hope of salvation.
Yet many Christians seem to have mislaid their helmets. Most people are “hoping” to be saved, perhaps, but that’s not what Paul means. As far as battle headgear, that kind of “hoping to be saved” is as useful as a floppy sun hat. It won’t do you much good when the conflict grows fierce. In the Bible, hope is never a vague optimism that everything is going to work out in the end; rather, it’s a settled conviction about where you will spend eternity. Biblical hope is sufficiently sure that you can give a reason for it
1 Peter 3:15 (NASB95)
but sanctify Christ as Lord in your hearts, always being ready to make a defense to everyone who asks you to give an account for the hope that is in you, yet with gentleness and reverence;
But the Bible tells us we can know for sure that we’re going to heaven. The apostle John says, “I write these things to you who believe in the name of the Son of God, that you may know that you have eternal life” (1 John 5:13). John wants us to know for sure we’re going to heaven, and he explains how: “This is the testimony, that God gave us eternal life, and this life is in his Son. Whoever has the Son has life; whoever does not have the Son of God does not have life” (1 John 5:11–12). If we have Jesus, we have life. If we don’t have Jesus, we don’t have life. Eternal life is God’s free gift, which comes to us wrapped up in his Son. We receive Jesus Christ and his righteousness, and along with him we receive life. Turn your back on Jesus, and in the same motion you’re turning your back on heaven.
Life is hard. That’s normal for followers of a crucified King. We’re engulfed by difficulties and temptations on all sides. We must wrestle with our rebellious hearts, as well as external trials. All the more reason, then, to be properly clothed. For when we face trials in the armor God has given, and the forces of darkness have done their worst and the fog of war finally lifts, we will be found standing firm in hope, in the strength provided by the Holy Spirit.
6. Sword of the Spirit
Which is the word of God
For us, this means that the best offense in spiritual warfare is the truth of the Bible, the reality of our salvation in Christ, and what the Holy Spirit reveals to us (
John 14:16-17
John 14:16–17 (NASB95)
“I will ask the Father, and He will give you another Helper, that He may be with you forever; that is the Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it does not see Him or know Him, but you know Him because He abides with you and will be in you.
“But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My name, He will teach you all things, and bring to your remembrance all that I said to you.
The sword can also be used as a defensive weapon to protect us from the lies of the enemy
Each time Satan tempted Jesus, He responded with the truth of Scripture
The sword is also used defensively in the way it assures us of our salvation. Because of Jesus' work on the cross, we know the ultimate victory belongs to God. Jesus as the incarnate Word has conquered our enemy
In order to use a sword to its fullest effect, a soldier must be trained with it. We, too, should be trained in the Word of God. This is why memorizing Scripture and cultivating a sensitivity toward the Holy Spirit are important. If we do not know the way our sword works, it will do us little good in battle.
I'm not a kjv only guy but they sure got it right here other translations say be diligent or do your best They miss the Greek word for study diligently meaning completely Study the Word don't let it sit on a desk
don't just skim it dont lightly ready it dont study for a lesson to teach Men Study to Show yourself approved unto God
Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.
So what is the Armor of God is it some mystical invisible force field that protects you from Satan sin and temptation........................
No its a way of life
a way of live that is lived by Faith in christ that we cling to his promises even when the enemy trys to cast doubts in our minds. We grab our shield of faith that is able to quench those firy darts of satan . For WE know for we believe that all things are fully and completely in Gods hands........Eli.................Through faith we put on our helmet of Salvation that covers us guards our minds by this we can do all things through Christ we can take captive those very thoughts that come to discourage us tear us down and bring them into obedience to Christ. We strap on our breast plate of righteousness that is given to us by Christ we clothe ourselves in His goodness we continue to extinguish the sin that still remains so that satan will no longer have a hold over our lives, WE grab our sword the Word of God we study it we study it diligently we do it so that we are approved by God not man so that we can rightly understand and teach the truth, We do it because its the only effective weapon against the devil we use it to know the wolves amoungst the sheep testing ourselves and every spirit by His holy word, WE strap on our shoes that we can take forth to carry the gospel every where we go. We love others as God first loved us so we tell others about the great love of God read to give a defence of the hope that is found in us .
The armor of God is a way of life of the true believer one who walks the walk one who does the will of the father one who is a doer not just a hearer
Are you one that walks the walk or are you hiding in fear
hiding under condemnation
hiding under disappointment
hiding under shame
Come out of your hiding to day come to the well dink for it is so sweet live a different life one that Christ died for ,
give up on yourself and trust in Him He is more than enough
He can take that burden he can take that shame he cane take that pain he can remove those doubt but you must give in totally to him cast all your shame pain sin doubts cast it all on him and he will heal you
pick up that armor and go and sin no more
