Thirsty for the presence of God. Psalm 42:1 “As a deer pants for flowing streams, so pants my soul for you, O God.”

Conquerors

“To conquer” denotes we are in a war; yes, we are in a war

Revelation 6:2 ESV

And I looked, and behold, a white horse! And its rider had a bow, and a crown was given to him, and he came out conquering, and to conquer.

That’s what I need! I need a God who knows how to conquer the enemy because the enemy is a lying, thieving, murderer, and wants my life.

“Let us have unity! Let us live in peace!” they say. Jesus said in Matthew 10:34 “Do not think that I have come to bring peace to the earth. I have not come to bring peace, but a sword.” That may sound really combative to some of you, and let me tell you, it is. But let me ask you this, what lengths are you willing to go to for the people you love? If you are willing to do almost anything for the people you love then how do you think God feels about it? God knows what the reality is in this world while we have been compromised, desensitized, and worn out by the enemy. I see what the enemy is out there doing, some of you have talked to me about what is going on. The enemy wants you to feel hopeless, despair, unworthy, unlovable, he wants you to give up and be defeated, feel defeated. I love you and I’m telling you, I’m here to battle with you.

I never thought I would be the crazy Dad yelling in the stands, but it turns out I am. When Elias started playing soccer a kid kicked his ball away from him at practice, they were lined up doing drills. I had to hold myself back from punching a kid in the face. I held myself back, I didn’t do it because I know that would not be right, but that is the fire that arose within me when my son was done wrong. If this is how we feel with our children, can you imagine how God feels with us?

The devil doesn’t need a hug and a job, he doesn’t need someone to listen and be understanding, he needs a kick in the teeth.

How do we conquer?

Revelation 12:11 ESV

And they have conquered him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony, for they loved not their lives even unto death.
