When we look at this Psalm 23 understand that this Psalm is what we refer to as a psalm of Thanksgiving
The word control or to have control of something is the having the power or the authority to manage a particular thing.
Giving up control is difficult , but when you really think about it , its logical .
because even when we think we have it we do not.
we can control how careful we are when we drive, we can not control how carefully someone else is when they drive.
we can control weather or not we put the offer on the property, we can not control weather or not the offer is accepted.
we can control how well we treat and care for other people.
we can not control how good people are to you.
We can control how good our grades are, how how great our resume is, how well we interview, but we can not control weather or not we get admit to school, or weather we get the position.
we contribute but we do not control
we influence but we do not control outcomes
And when we attempt to manipulate outcomes.
and take on the Job of God
what we end of doing, is bearing the weight of something ,that we were never intended to bear, we are bearing God weight.
and when you find your self bearing God weight, you crumble under the pressure because you are trying to carry somethings that too heavy for you!
Does that make sense
When we look at this particular psalm
What I find fascinating about it, is not who wrote it,
When we think about control many of us
I find this psalm particularly interesting not because who wrote it, yes we know it was David not because what was said, but when it was said.
it is believe that this particular psalm was written AFTER David is appointed king.
