Have you every experienced an unexpected end to something?
A movie
A relationship
A loved one
Unexpected ends in life are a side effect of the curse in Eden.
When our forefathers, Adam and Eve, spat in the face of God, they traded:
life for death.
Holiness for hell
Well-being for war
Yet, from Genesis 3:15 to the fulfillment of this prophecy in the Life, Death, and Resurrection of Christ, God made a way for humanity to exchange death for life, hell for holiness, and war for well-being.
With mercy being great and grace being free, with pardon being multiplied to us, there our burdened souls were to find liberty at Calvary!
However, Matthew 7:21 still remains a verse in our Bibles, which means some of you today may be heading to an Unexpected End.

The End is a Destination Point (vs. 1-2)

The word for end can be pictured as a border between two lands. (i.e. pieces of property)
This word is used in association with the Flood (Gen. 6:13). EX: International Travel and the observance of different customs.

The End is a Dangerous Point (vs. 2-4)

Notice, what will meet those who walk this way at the end (v. 3).
EX: If we woke up Monday morning to the report that communist China had landed troops on the shoreline of California last night, every red-bloodied, able-bodied, American would do something to enter into the fray.
There is no hope of repentance (v. 4)
EX: A Child’s tears and cry

The End is a Doomed Point (vs. 5-10)

Ezekiel uses symbolic pictures to demonstrate how irreversible their situation is:
v. 6 - it watcheth for thee
v. 7 - the morning is come
v. 8 - the day of trouble is near, and not the sounding again of the mountains.
v. 10 - The rod hath blossomed and pride had budded.
Each of these pictures demonstrates an activity that has started and could not be reversed!

Conclusion: Chapter 8 and 9 of Ezekiel
