The Armor for the believer
Has become so ineffective
Because we are so quick
To getting to the armor
Without knowing the little details
About the Devil
And about the Armor
1st Satan brings Division
2nd Satan brings Discouragement
3rd Satan brings Doubt
4th Satan brings Discontentment
5th Satan brings Distraction
6th Satan brings Deception
7th Ultimately Satan wants to Destroy You
Ephesians 6:11 (ESV)
11 Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the schemes of the devil.
Before we get started
We Have to understand
That this armor
Is for STANDING
Standing against the schemes of the Devil
Standing with what God has given you — Saul tried to give David his armor
Standing with ENDURANCE
The hardest position on your feet is to STAND / Go Forward - Backwards - Stand still
Ephesians 6:10 (ESV)
10 Finally, be strong in the Lord and in the strength of his might.
“ Be Strong “ — is in the present tense
Be strong is not
Something that you do once
But it’s a continual doing to remain strong
Be strong is in
The passive voice
There’s 3 voices in the Greek language
1st The Active voice
2nd The Middle voice
3rd The Passive voice
Active Voice — you are doing the action on something other than yourself
Example: Eric is teaching his son how to play baseball
Middle Voice — is when you’re acting on yourself, you’re doing it to yourself [ Talk to YOURSELF ]
Example : [ 2 Timothy 2:22 KJV ] “Flee also youthful lusts: but follow righteousness, faith, charity, peace, with them that call on the Lord out of a pure heart.”
Passive Voice — is when someone else is performing the action on you
Example: God is doing it to you, giving you the strength
Note: But it’s in the [ imperative mood ] — in other words it’s a COMMAND to Be STRONG
The Greek word for Be Strong — “ endynamoo “ — is where we get our english word dynamite ( let the Lord empower you like dynamite.
“ Be Strong “
“ Put On “
Note: This is in the middle voice — you doing it to yourself
Note: It’s not God responsibility to put on the armor for you
Note: How many of us is asking God to do something for us when it’s our responsibility to be doing it [ DISCIPLINE ]
“ Put on “ — is in the { aorist tense } — it’s a ( Snapshot Event ) something that you do once and you should be done. It’s something you do once and leave it on [ You’re Always Prepared ]
“ Put On “ — it’s in the [ imperative mood ] — It’s a COMMAND
Ephesians 6:11 (ESV)
11 Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the schemes of the devil.
“ Be Strong “

“ Schemes “ [ methodeia ]
“ methodeia “ — is where we get our english word METHOD
METHOD — a way of doing something ( deceptive ) especially in a systematic way, implies orderly logical arrangement ( usually in steps )
Footnote: The Devil is organized, he does things to us that make sense to make us fall
Footnote: And his schemes are personalized based on our individual struggles
Example: Matthew 4:1-11
Matthew 4:1–11 (KJV 1900)
1 Then was Jesus led up of the Spirit into the wilderness to be tempted of the devil.
2 And when he had fasted forty days and forty nights, he was afterward an hungred.
3 And when the tempter came to him, he said, If thou be the Son of God, command that these stones be made bread.
4 But he answered and said, It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God.
5 Then the devil taketh him up into the holy city, and setteth him on a pinnacle of the temple,
6 And saith unto him, If thou be the Son of God, cast thyself down: for it is written, He shall give his angels charge concerning thee: and in their hands they shall bear thee up, lest at any time thou dash thy foot against a stone.
7 Jesus said unto him, It is written again, Thou shalt not tempt the Lord thy God.
8 Again, the devil taketh him up into an exceeding high mountain, and sheweth him all the kingdoms of the world, and the glory of them;
9 And saith unto him, All these things will I give thee, if thou wilt fall down and worship me.
10 Then saith Jesus unto him, Get thee hence, Satan: for it is written, Thou shalt worship the Lord thy God, and him only shalt thou serve.
11 Then the devil leaveth him, and, behold, angels came and ministered unto him.
