After the disaster of Kadesh Barnea, the nation of Israel was sent to wander in the wilderness. Nevertheless, God did not abandon his people. In this passage, we learn how God went with his people into this exile, how He guided them with his commands, how He blessed them and made them a blessing, and how He prepared them to receive the blessing of His covenant promise. As such, we gain helpful insight into how God guides his people here and now as we wait on the fulfilment of His promise.
