The chief end of all creation and of God himself is the glory of God. If God didn’t prize his own glory above all, then he would prize something else above all, and nothing is more to be valued than his glory. To be sure, there is no other being so worthy of glory and praise than the Triune God. To that end, that your own affections would be drawn up to give God the glory due his name, let us consider this doxology.
