Philippians 4:7 NKJV
7 and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.
Colossians 3:15 NKJV
15 And let the peace of God rule in your hearts, to which also you were called in one body; and be thankful.
The first thing I notice about the peace is it is not my own. This peace comes from God.
In the case of Philippians 4:7, the verses state that the peace which comes from God not understanding. The peace the Lord gives surpasses understanding, and will guard our hearts and minds in Christ Jesus.
in the case of Colossians 3:15, we are admonished to “let” the peace of God rule in our hearts.
in my mind the peace of God should be the law?
if I am going to let the peace of God be the law in my heart, it will force me to be a man of greater prayer than I am now.
1 Peter 5:7 NKJV
7 casting all your care upon Him, for He cares for you.
not my friends.
not social media.
its prayer that will move the mountains in my life.
I am going to have to be a man that turns to the almighty more than I do. if we are going to be at peace and not in denial, we are going to need to turn to our spiritual tool box.
2 Corinthians 10:4 NKJV
4 For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal but mighty in God for pulling down strongholds,
I am afraid in the modern church we are practitioners of carnal actions rather than being mighty in God.
what am I trying to control rather than surrender?
Finally if I am going to spend some time renewing my mind and training myself in righteousness.
it helps to be accountable to my brothers and sisters, but I need to be accountable to myself first. i need to give in to my God given conscience. I need to do whats right, what I already know is right! I need to move away from the idea of getting away with whatever and doing the right thing.
Romans 12:1–2 NKJV
1 I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that you present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, which is your reasonable service. 2 And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.
Ephesians 4:22–24 NKJV
22 that you put off, concerning your former conduct, the old man which grows corrupt according to the deceitful lusts, 23 and be renewed in the spirit of your mind, 24 and that you put on the new man which was created according to God, in true righteousness and holiness.
Ephesians 5:25–26 NKJV
25 Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ also loved the church and gave Himself for her, 26 that He might sanctify and cleanse her with the washing of water by the word,
the word of God this bible sets us apart by the word of God our minds are changed.
i’m going to have to spend sometime in the presence of God outside of the worship service if I am Going let peace rule.
Psalm 91:1 NKJV
1 He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High Shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty.
one of the reasons I like worship music like I do is that it causes me to think. then my mind begins to dwell under the shadow of the almighty.
if I don’t do anything my flesh is going to cause my mind to dwell on the flesh it’s thoughts and desires.
what does it mean to be tranquil?
tran•quil \ˈtraŋ-kwəl, ˈtran-\ adjective
[Middle English tranquill, from Latin tranquillus] 15th century
1 a: free from agitation of mind or spirit 〈a tranquil self-assurance〉
b: free from disturbance or turmoil 〈a tranquil scene〉

Inc Merriam-Webster, Merriam-Webster’s Collegiate Dictionary. (Springfield, MA: Merriam-Webster, Inc., 2003).
this kind of peace comes only from God and the power of his spirit.
Pentecost is passed, we are not waiting on the Holy Spirit is patently waiting on us to yield to Him.
