Why Do Christians Go Through Trials? I Peter 1:1-8.

Peter is writing to scattered Christians to encourage them.

The righteous suffer injustice. We are not excused from trouble. When the righteous die, we have an inheritance incorruptible. I Peter 1:4: To an inheritance incorruptible, and undefiled, and that fadeth not away, reserved in heaven for you, . . .

Christians are going to have different trials pressing down upon us. I Peter 1:6: Wherein ye greatly rejoice, though now for a season, if need be, ye are in heaviness through manifold temptations.

God knows what we need. God knows what trials we need.

Philippians 4:4: Rejoice in the Lord always: and again I say, Rejoice.

John 16:33: These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.

Romans 8:28: And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.

Satan pulls out all the stops to test our faith.

A faith that cannot be tested cannot be trusted.

We will be rewarded for our faith.

Luke 10:20: Notwithstanding in this rejoice not, that the spirits are subject unto you; but rather rejoice, because your names are written in heaven.

Romans 8:28: And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.

His grace is sufficient. 2 Corinthians 12:9: And he said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me.
