This Week’s Theme: Real Conversion
This Week’s Word is Regeneration: The radical renewal of a person’s inner being by the work of God’s Spirit.
Memory Verse: John 3:3 “3 Jesus answered and said to him, “Most assuredly, I say to you, unless one is born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.””
Essence of the Text in a Sentence: Based on His reputation, The LORD proclaimed through Ezekiel a future restoration and reconciliation of Israel through His doing.
Sermon Proposition: Christian have experience the reconciliation of God through His Son, Jesus the Christ.
Sermon Objective: I want those in attendance to demonstrate the truth of God’s Word by walking according to His statutes, keeping His judgments, and doing them.
Sermon Text: Ezekiel 36:22-38
Ezekiel 36:22–38 NKJV
22 “Therefore say to the house of Israel, ‘Thus says the Lord God: “I do not do this for your sake, O house of Israel, but for My holy name’s sake, which you have profaned among the nations wherever you went. 23 And I will sanctify My great name, which has been profaned among the nations, which you have profaned in their midst; and the nations shall know that I am the Lord,” says the Lord God, “when I am hallowed in you before their eyes. 24 For I will take you from among the nations, gather you out of all countries, and bring you into your own land. 25 Then I will sprinkle clean water on you, and you shall be clean; I will cleanse you from all your filthiness and from all your idols. 26 I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit within you; I will take the heart of stone out of your flesh and give you a heart of flesh. 27 I will put My Spirit within you and cause you to walk in My statutes, and you will keep My judgments and do them. 28 Then you shall dwell in the land that I gave to your fathers; you shall be My people, and I will be your God. 29 I will deliver you from all your uncleannesses. I will call for the grain and multiply it, and bring no famine upon you. 30 And I will multiply the fruit of your trees and the increase of your fields, so that you need never again bear the reproach of famine among the nations. 31 Then you will remember your evil ways and your deeds that were not good; and you will loathe yourselves in your own sight, for your iniquities and your abominations. 32 Not for your sake do I do this,” says the Lord God, “let it be known to you. Be ashamed and confounded for your own ways, O house of Israel!” 33 ‘Thus says the Lord God: “On the day that I cleanse you from all your iniquities, I will also enable you to dwell in the cities, and the ruins shall be rebuilt. 34 The desolate land shall be tilled instead of lying desolate in the sight of all who pass by. 35 So they will say, ‘This land that was desolate has become like the garden of Eden; and the wasted, desolate, and ruined cities are now fortified and inhabited.’ 36 Then the nations which are left all around you shall know that I, the Lord, have rebuilt the ruined places and planted what was desolate. I, the Lord, have spoken it, and I will do it.” 37 ‘Thus says the Lord God: “I will also let the house of Israel inquire of Me to do this for them: I will increase their men like a flock. 38 Like a flock offered as holy sacrifices, like the flock at Jerusalem on its feast days, so shall the ruined cities be filled with flocks of men. Then they shall know that I am the Lord.” ’ ”
INTRODUCTION:
TRANSITION:

I. Returned By The LORD

Ezekiel 11:9, 12; Ezekiel 36:24; Colossians 1:13;
Explain: The people had received the judgment of God on them. Look at Ezekiel 36:9
Ezekiel 11:9 NKJV
9 “And I will bring you out of its midst, and deliver you into the hands of strangers, and execute judgments on you.
Why would God do this? Glad you asked look at verse 12
Ezekiel 11:12 NKJV
12 And you shall know that I am the Lord; for you have not walked in My statutes nor executed My judgments, but have done according to the customs of the Gentiles which are all around you.” ’ ”
But here in this passage, the LORD promises that He would returned the people back to the land. Look at Ezekiel 36:24
Ezekiel 36:24 NKJV
24 For I will take you from among the nations, gather you out of all countries, and bring you into your own land.
The LORD promised that in the future He would take or return the remnant, that He left, from the nations, gather them together, and bring them into their own land. He promised them that they would go back to the Promised Land. He
Apply: Today the promise is still active. God is telling men and women and children regardless or nationality or social status or race that you have been cast into the kingdom of darkness and He promises that He will transfer them out of the kingdom of darkness into the kingdom of His dear Son. This is what Paul is saying what happen to Christians in Colossian 1:13.
Colossians 1:13 NKJV
13 He has delivered us from the power of darkness and conveyed us into the kingdom of the Son of His love,
Has your address changed?
If someone is looking for you, where should they look?
Are you still in captivity?
Did the LORD CHANGE YOUR RESIDENCE,
WERE YOU CHAINED, SHACKLED, AND IMPRISONED AWAY IN CAPTIVITY
WERE YOU DOMINATED BY THE DEVIL BUT THE LORD
WERE YOU LOCK UP BY LUCIFER BUT THE LORD
WERE YOU SHACKLED BY SATAN BUT THE LORD.
PEOPLE OUGHT TO KNOW WHERE YOU RESIDE,
PREVIOUSLY YOU WERE WE WERE
CHAINED BY OUR CRIMES
CONFINED BY OUR CORRUPTION
IMPRISONED BY OUR INIQUITY
TRAPPED BY OUR TRANGRESSION
SENTENCED BY OUR SIN
PREVIOUSLY THEY FOUND YOU IN THE CLUB, ON THE STREET CORNER, OR AT THE CASINO
PREVIOUSLY THEY COULD FIND YOU IN THE MIDDLE OF MESS,
This passage communicates the mercies of God, how have you shown people around you that this world is not your home? List the ways.
NOT ONLY DID THE LORD RETURN THEM BUT THEY WERE REFINED BY THE LORD

II. Refined by the LORD

Ezekiel 36:25; Job 14:4; Psalm 51:2; Psalm 24:3-4; Titus 3:5;
Explain: [know this about God / know this about man]
Ezekiel 36:25 NKJV
25 Then I will sprinkle clean water on you, and you shall be clean; I will cleanse you from all your filthiness and from all your idols.
Job 14:4 NKJV
4 Who can bring a clean thing out of an unclean? No one!
This the reason David needed God’s help when he said in Psalm 51:2
Psalm 51:2 NKJV
2 Wash me thoroughly from my iniquity, And cleanse me from my sin.
The children of Israel needed cleaning after being in the hog pen of idolatry and abominable practices. THEY WERE
DIRTY or DEPRAVED
NASTY OR NAUGHTY
FILTHY OR FOOLISH
POLLUTED OR PRIDEFUL
SOILED OR SELFISH
STAINED OR SINFUL
THEY NEEDED CLEANING
God needed to clean, purify, refine the people. Don’t you remember after the children of Israel came out of the Egypt and needed to meet with God. They needed to purify themselves.
Psalm 24:3–4 NKJV
3 Who may ascend into the hill of the Lord? Or who may stand in His holy place? 4 He who has clean hands and a pure heart, Who has not lifted up his soul to an idol, Nor sworn deceitfully.
YOU WERE
DIRTY BY DEPRAVITY,
GRIMY BY GREED,
NASTY BY NAUGHTINESS
FILTHY BY FOOLISHNESS,
CONTAMINATED BY CORRUPTION
POLLUTED BY PRIDE
SOILED BY SELFISHNESS,
& STAINED BY SIN
Titus 3:4–6 NKJV
4 But when the kindness and the love of God our Savior toward man appeared, 5 not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to His mercy He saved us, through the washing of regeneration and renewing of the Holy Spirit, 6 whom He poured out on us abundantly through Jesus Christ our Savior,
I SO GLAD
He washed my wickedness
He cleansed me from my corruption
He rinsed me from my rottenness
He purified me from my polluted lifestyle
This passage communicates that God purifies those He has transferred into His Kingdom. Do you see yourself as being purified by God today? What is He currently doing? Be specific.

III.Regenerated by the LORD

Ezekiel 36:26; Deuteronomy 30:5-6; Psalm 51:10; Jeremiah 17:9; Mark 7:21-23; John 3:3-5;
Explain: [know this about God / know this about man]
Ezekiel 36:26 NKJV
26 I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit within you; I will take the heart of stone out of your flesh and give you a heart of flesh.
THEIR HEART WAS MESSED UP. LOOK AT JEREMIAH 17:9
Jeremiah 17:9 NKJV
9 “The heart is deceitful above all things, And desperately wicked; Who can know it?
LOOK AT WHAT JESUS SAID MARK 7:21-23
Mark 7:21–23 NKJV
21 For from within, out of the heart of men, proceed evil thoughts, adulteries, fornications, murders, 22 thefts, covetousness, wickedness, deceit, lewdness, an evil eye, blasphemy, pride, foolishness. 23 All these evil things come from within and defile a man.”
THE LORD HAD BEEN EXPRESSING TO EACH GENERATION, YOU NEED HEART SURGERY. LOOK AT DEUT 30:5-6
Deuteronomy 30:5–6 NKJV
5 Then the Lord your God will bring you to the land which your fathers possessed, and you shall possess it. He will prosper you and multiply you more than your fathers. 6 And the Lord your God will circumcise your heart and the heart of your descendants, to love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul, that you may live.
CIRCUMCISE YOUR HEART,
JEREMIAH SAYS IN 4:4 TO TAKE AWAY THE FORESKINS OF YOUR HEART.
DAVID UNDERSTOOD WHAT NEEDED TO HAPPEN. LOOK AT PS 51:10
Psalm 51:10 NKJV
10 Create in me a clean heart, O God, And renew a steadfast spirit within me.
THIS IS EXACTLY WHAT JESUS WAS TRYING TO COMMUNICATE TO NICODEMUS A MAN THAT SHOULD HAVE KNOWN WHAT THE BOOK SAID. LOOK AT JOHN 3:3-5
John 3:3–5 NKJV
3 Jesus answered and said to him, “Most assuredly, I say to you, unless one is born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.” 4 Nicodemus said to Him, “How can a man be born when he is old? Can he enter a second time into his mother’s womb and be born?” 5 Jesus answered, “Most assuredly, I say to you, unless one is born of water and the Spirit, he cannot enter the kingdom of God.
Romans 2:28–29 NKJV
28 For he is not a Jew who is one outwardly, nor is circumcision that which is outward in the flesh; 29 but he is a Jew who is one inwardly; and circumcision is that of the heart, in the Spirit, not in the letter; whose praise is not from men but from God.
Apply: THE SONG SAID I KNOW I BEEN CHANGE. WHY?
ANOTHER SONG SAID THINGS I USE TO DO I DON’T DO ANYMORE. . .
WHY? BECAUSE I
Despise what I use to be Devoted to
Loathe what I use to Love
Animosity, what I use to have an Appetite for
Abhor, what I use to Appreciate
MY HEART HAS BEEN CHANGE AND A NEW SPIRIT RESIDES WITHIN ME.
This speaks of God performing heart surgery on those He has transferred and purified. What evidence do you have that you have a new heart and spirit?

IV.Regulated By The LORD

Ezekiel 36:27-38; Proverbs 1:23; Galatians 5:16; Romans 8:14;
Ezekiel 36:27 NKJV
27 I will put My Spirit within you and cause you to walk in My statutes, and you will keep My judgments and do them.
Proverbs 1:23 NKJV
23 Turn at my rebuke; Surely I will pour out my spirit on you; I will make my words known to you.
Galatians 5:16 NKJV
16 I say then: Walk in the Spirit, and you shall not fulfill the lust of the flesh.
Romans 8:14 NKJV
14 For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, these are sons of God.

HE RETURNED ME

Ezekiel 36:28 NKJV
28 Then you shall dwell in the land that I gave to your fathers; you shall be My people, and I will be your God.

HE REFINED ME

Ezekiel 36:29 NKJV
29 I will deliver you from all your uncleannesses. I will call for the grain and multiply it, and bring no famine upon you.

HE REGENERATED ME

Ezekiel 36:31 NKJV
31 Then you will remember your evil ways and your deeds that were not good; and you will loathe yourselves in your own sight, for your iniquities and your abominations.

HE REGULATES ME

Ezekiel 36:27 NKJV
27 I will put My Spirit within you and cause you to walk in My statutes, and you will keep My judgments and do them.
How does the Holy Spirit lead you? How do you know that it happened to you?
