FROM BREAKDOWN TO BREAKTHROUGH September 4, 2022 FROM BREAKDOWN TO BREAKTHROUGH Though Jesus Comes To Open The Way Into His Kingdom For All People. He Is Rejected By Many The Pharisees Had Rejected Jesus Saying He Was Operating Under The Power Of Satan His Family Rejected Him The People In His Own Hometown Did Not Receive Him FROM BREAKDOWN TO BREAKTHROUGH He Did Not Do Many Miracles There Because Of Lack Of Faith We Must Learn How To Reject Rejection When We Are Rejected We Don't Give In, Give Up We Don't Go Back We Don't Grovel We Accept Christ’s Love – His Calling – His Empowering We Start To Just Live Like A Child Of The King That We Are FROM BREAKDOWN TO BREAKTHROUGH Matthew 14:1–2 (NIV) — 1 At that time Herod the tetrarch heard the reports about Jesus, 2 and he said to his attendants, “This is John the Baptist; he has risen from the dead! That is why miraculous powers are at work in him.” FROM BREAKDOWN TO BREAKTHROUGH Matthew 14:3–12 (NIV) 3 Now Herod had arrested John and bound him and put him in prison because of Herodias, his brother Philip’s wife, 4 for John had been saying to him: “It is not lawful for you to have her.” 5 Herod wanted to kill John, but he was afraid of the people, because they considered him a prophet. 6 On Herod’s birthday the daughter of Herodias danced for them and pleased Herod so much 7 that he promised with an oath to give her whatever she asked. 8 Prompted by her mother, she said, “Give me here on a platter the head of John the Baptist.” 9 The king was distressed, but because of his oaths and his dinner guests, he ordered that her request be granted 10 and had John beheaded in the prison. 11 His head was brought in on a platter and given to the girl, who carried it to her mother. 12 John’s disciples came and took his body and buried it. Then they went and told Jesus. FROM BREAKDOWN TO BREAKTHROUGH Jesus Is Dealing With:  More Rejection -- Trials – Tests -- Suffering -Tears The Question : Will This Ever End? FROM BREAKDOWN TO BREAKTHROUGH And What Did He Do? Matthew 14:12–13a (NIV) — 12 John’s disciples came and took his body and buried it. Then they went and told Jesus. 13 When Jesus heard what had happened, he withdrew by boat privately to a solitary place. He Withdrew to a Solitary Place FROM BREAKDOWN TO BREAKTHROUGH We Must Learn From Christ In Those Times To Pray: Lord, I Need Your Presence I Need This Solitary Place -- Alone With You FROM BREAKDOWN TO BREAKTHROUGH The Crowds Found and Followed Him Jesus Did Not Run Away From Them He Had Compassion On Them He Healed Their Sick FROM BREAKDOWN TO BREAKTHROUGH Matthew 14:15–16 (NIV) — 15 As evening approached, the disciples came to him and said, “This is a remote place, and it’s already getting late. Send the crowds away, so they can go to the villages and buy themselves some food.” 16 Jesus replied, “They do not need to go away. You give them something to eat.” Jesus Did Not Answer With Common Sense He Answered With FROM BREAKDOWN TO BREAKTHROUGH Find Out What You Have And Use It Matthew 14:17–19 (NIV) — 17 “We have here only five loaves of bread and two fish,” they answered. 18 “Bring them here to me,” he said. 19 And he directed the people to sit down on the grass. Taking the five loaves and the two fish and looking up to heaven, he gave thanks and broke the loaves. Then he gave them to the disciples, and the disciples gave them to the people. FROM BREAKDOWN TO BREAKTHROUGH Jesus Can Use What You Have The Lesson Of The Little Boy: Find What You Have Set It Aside For The Lord FROM BREAKDOWN TO BREAKTHROUGH Anything In Jesus’ Hands Can Be Blessed, Divided, Multiplied and Used The Blessing Of Jesus Comes With Miracle Power Matthew 14:20–21 (NIV) — 20 They all ate and were satisfied, and the disciples picked up twelve basketfuls of broken pieces that were left over. 21 The number of those who ate was about five thousand men, besides women and children. FROM BREAKDOWN TO BREAKTHROUGH After The Blessing Comes The Breaking Jesus Will Break & Divide What Has Been Given To Him Being Broken By Christ Can Lead Us To Kingdom Power & Usefulness FROM BREAKDOWN TO BREAKTHROUGH Jesus Had A Priority And A Purpose In The Breaking His Intention: To Establish The Kingdom Of God His Ultimate Goal: To Finish The Mission FROM BREAKDOWN TO BREAKTHROUGH The Feeding Of This Multitude Is Of Utmost Importance To Establish the Kingdom – To Complete the Mission Jesus Knew He Was On a Mission Luke 4:18 (NKJV) "The Spirit of the LORD is upon Me, Because He has anointed Me To preach the gospel to the poor; He has sent Me to heal the brokenhearted, To proclaim FROM BREAKDOWN TO BREAKTHROUGH The Lord’s Purpose And Priority Remain Unchanged He Still Says: I Have Come To Seek And Save The Lost I Have Come As The Bread Of Life To The Hungry I Have Come As The Water Of Life To The Thirsty FROM BREAKDOWN TO BREAKTHROUGH In The Kingdom Give and it Will Be Given to You: In Caring For Others -- You Get Cared For In Helping Others -- You Get Helped In Serving -- You Become Great In Putting Others First -- You Get Taken Care Of If You Want To Receive -- You Give If You Want To Rest Well --You Work Well If You Want To Be Fed -- You Feed Others FROM BREAKDOWN TO BREAKTHROUGH The Plan Of Jesus: Feed The Multitude He Blessed It He Broke It He Multiplied He Gave It Out He Gave The Leftovers Away FROM BREAKDOWN TO BREAKTHROUGH The Lord Has A Plan In The Breaking What We Call Broken -- God Calls Fixed! God Uses Broken Things FROM BREAKDOWN TO BREAKTHROUGH Many Things In The Kingdom Get Their Full Value Only After Breaking After He Blesses & Gives Thanks For The Loaves And The Fishes -He Breaks Them FROM BREAKDOWN TO BREAKTHROUGH When We Get Too Comfy … It’s Time For A Stirring When We Get Too Relaxed… It’s Time For A Stretching When We Get Too Settled … It’s Time For A Shaking When We Get Too Hard… It’s Time To Be Crushed When We Get Too Clingy … It’s Time To Be Pulled FROM BREAKDOWN TO BREAKTHROUGH God Has A Plan Stirring --Shaking – Stretching – Pulling Apart – Crushing That Will Lead To The Multiplication Of Readiness And Usefulness For His Kingdom FROM BREAKDOWN TO BREAKTHROUGH What The Lord Blesses And Breaks He Uses To Feed And To Fill And To Satisfy There Is A Great Transition That Takes Place From Breakdown To Breakthrough
