I Kings 17:1-16, We Need to Trust and Obey God.

We live by the promises of God.

We keep our eyes fixed on the source--Jesus Christ.

God has promised to provide the needs of His children. Psalm 23:1: The LORD, the Psalmist’s Shepherd. A Psalm of David. The LORD is my shepherd, I shall not want.

Philippians 4:19: And my God will supply all your needs according to His riches in glory in Christ Jesus.

God will provide. Trust His Word. Put God first and trust His promises.

Obedience to God’s commands demonstrates faith.

I Peter 1:7: so that the proof of your faith, being more precious than gold which is perishable, even though tested by fire, may be found to result in praise and glory and honor at the revelation of Jesus Christ;

When genuine faith is tested, it brings glory to God. It works for the good of the believer.
