Transformed By Ephesians - Part 5

Ephesians 1:19–23 NLT
19 I also pray that you will understand the incredible greatness of God’s power for us who believe him. This is the same mighty power 20 that raised Christ from the dead and seated him in the place of honor at God’s right hand in the heavenly realms. 21 Now he is far above any ruler or authority or power or leader or anything else—not only in this world but also in the world to come. 22 God has put all things under the authority of Christ and has made him head over all things for the benefit of the church. 23 And the church is his body; it is made full and complete by Christ, who fills all things everywhere with himself.
Pray

Confession of Faith

I am not moved by what I see or by what I feel. I am moved by what I believe. I believe the WORD of God! The victory is mine! I have it now! I can see it through the eyes of my faith! In Jesus Name

Intro: Today, as a people - if we ever needed anything, we need the power of God in our lives. Let me talk to you - If you have ever been caught by the confusion of this world , if you have ever done anything where you feel shame, if people or situations have left you bitter! If the things of this world have caused you to hate others , If your desires for other people or things have caused you to lust and live an immoral lifestyle, if you find yourself cursing and angry about things and people, if you are experiencing the effects of a loved one’s murder or you have ever been to war - if you are dealing with division in the family or disagreement with friends, if you have experienced disappointment or a sense of emptiness, anxiety, depression, no sense of purpose that’s when you know -something is not right, something is way off in your life that’s when you know desperately we need the POWER OF God!
We need the POWER OF GOD to help us through the day to day challenges of life! We need the POWER OF GOD to right the wrongs in our personal lives, in our families , churches, communities and this world!
Here’s what I know to be true! God offers his power to each of us - man woman boy or girl if we would turn to His Son Jesus Christ.
He promises His power to all believers.
Ephesians 1:19 NLT
19 I also pray that you will understand the incredible greatness of God’s power for us who believe him. This is the same mighty power
Ephesians 1:19 AMP
19 And [so that you can know and understand] what is the immeasurable and unlimited and surpassing greatness of His power in and for us who believe, as demonstrated in the working of His mighty strength,
Paul is praying that the believer might know God personally and intimately, because when you know God for yourself , God gives us HIS power! We must spend the time getting to know God to receive his power!
God, Power of: when you really know God, you experiences somethings - You experience this power from God that unlimited, - this power is immeasurable, this power is beyond imagination,
Ephesians 1:19 (NKJV)
19 ... the exceeding greatness of His power toward us who believe, according to the working of His mighty power
Think about this for a minute! God wants to give you and I something that is exceeding, mighty, unlimited to help us daily handle the chaos in our lives and in this world! God takes His power and extends it, presents it, makes it available to you and me.
Pastor - How do we know this? Because of what God did for Jesus - He will do for us. God's power is demonstrated by what He did for Jesus .
Ephesians 3:16–21 (AMP)
16 May He grant you out of the rich treasury of His glory to be strengthened and reinforced with mighty power in the inner man by the [Holy] Spirit [Himself indwelling your innermost being and personality].
17 May Christ through your faith [actually] dwell (settle down, abide, make His permanent home) in your hearts! May you be rooted deep in love and founded securely on love,
18 That you may have the power and be strong to apprehend and grasp with all the saints [God’s devoted people, the experience of that love] what is the breadth and length and height and depth [of it];
19 [That you may really come] to know [practically, through experience for yourselves] the love of Christ, which far surpasses mere knowledge [without experience]; that you may be filled [through all your being] unto all the fullness of God [may have the richest measure of the divine Presence, and become a body wholly filled and flooded with God Himself]!
20 Now to Him Who, by (in consequence of) the [action of His] power that is at work within us, is able to [carry out His purpose and] do superabundantly, far over and above all that we [dare] ask or think [infinitely beyond our highest prayers, desires, thoughts, hopes, or dreams]—
21 To Him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations forever and ever. Amen (so be it).
Let me show you something in the text! End of verse 19
Ephesians 1:19–20 (NLT)
19 ... This is the same mighty power
20 that raised Christ from the dead and seated him in the place of honor at God’s right hand in the heavenly realms.
When something is dead - it has no life… when something is dead it has lost sensation, or it’s numb
When something is dead there is no emotion, no sympathy, no sensitivity
When something is dead it is no longer current , it is no longer relevant, no longer important
When something is dead there is no excitement, there is no activity
When something is dead it is not financially productive
When something is dead it is no longer functioning, it is stagnant, it is empty, it is absolute
Paul is saying = I’m praying for you tho have the same Power of God that raised Jesus from the Dead Grave to raise you from dead relationships, dead jobs, dead people, dead ideas, dead philosophies, dead living, dead purposes, dead emotions, dead pasts! God wants to give you the same experience that he gave to Jesus when he raised him from the dead over 2000 years now Jesus Is Still Alive - God wants us to live and live a life of abundance in Him!
Wait, let me show you something else in the same text
Ephesians 1:20 The Living Bible
20 that raised Christ from the dead and seated him in the place of honor at God’s right hand in heaven,
There is a place God wants his children! It is a place of honor at his right hand!
Psalm 110:1 NKJV
1 The Lord said to my Lord, “Sit at My right hand, Till I make Your enemies Your footstool.”
We need to be next to God, we need to be sitting at his right hand, when we are near God, the same thing he does for Jesus he will do for you and me! He will make those dead things, those enemies our footstool! The haters - all they do his draw you closer to God! When people lie or you or misuses you God says, you sit next to me and I’ll fight this battle....
When you believe in God through his son Jesus Christ! When you get to know him - there is a transforming power that he gives to his children that raises us from the dead things of this world and sots us in a place next to God - where he takes care of our enemies
It’s in the name - the power is in the name!
Philippians 2:9–11 NKJV
9 Therefore God also has highly exalted Him and given Him the name which is above every name, 10 that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of those in heaven, and of those on earth, and of those under the earth, 11 and that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.
There is something about the name JESUS!
The name of Jesus has the highest honor, The name of Jesus is the name above all other names,
at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth,
and every tongue declare that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father
There is a song - recorded by the late Rance Allen titled Something about that name Jesus
There is something about that name, Jesus It's the sweetest name I know
Something about the name Jesus
Oh, how I love the name Jesus Oh, how I love the name Jesus
Some people say I'm crazy but I can't explain The power that I feel yeah, when I call Your name Said it's just like fire, shut up in my bones When the holy ghost is moving (oh yeah) I'll know it won't leave us alone and it all because there's something
Something about the name Jesus
If you need change in your life - call on Jesus
If you need healing in your life - call on the name Jesus
If you tired of being sick and tired - call on the name Jesus
If you are worried - call on the name Jesus
If you are in a place of lack - call on the name Jesus
In order to experience the power of God - Call on the Name Jesus
God Bless you and God keep you is my prayer
