I. Trying is Not Doing

A. You See Your Face in the Mirror, in the Word of God
Jas 1:23-24 “23 For if any be a hearer of the word, and not a doer, he is like unto a man beholding his natural face in a glass:
B. You Go Away and Forget What Manner of Man Your Are, a Sinner
24 For he beholdeth himself, and goeth his way, and straightway forgetteth what manner of man he was.”
C. In the Old Testament, God Said Thru Ezekiel That Whether They Will Hear or Forbear, Most are Rebellious
Eze 2:7 “7 And thou shalt speak my words unto them, whether they will hear, or whether they will forbear: for they are most rebellious.”
D. God Gave You a Heart to Perceive, Eye to See, and Ears to Hear This Day
Dt 29:4 “4 Yet the Lord hath not given you an heart to perceive, and eyes to see, and ears to hear, unto this day.”
E. But the People in the Old Testament and Today, Neither Obey or In Inclined Their Ears and Are Stiff Necked to Receive Instruction from God
Je 17:23 “23 But they obeyed not, neither inclined their ear, but made their neck stiff, that they might not hear, nor receive instruction.”
F. A Doer Will Be Blessed in His Deeds, If He Doesn’t Forget the Laws of God
Jas 1:25 “25 But whoso looketh into the perfect law of liberty, and continueth therein, he being not a forgetful hearer, but a doer of the work, this man shall be blessed in his deed.”
II. We Have to Resist the Devil
A. By Submitting Yourself to God
B. The Devil Will Flee from You
Jas 4:7 “7 Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.”
C. The Devil is a Roaring Lion that is Seeking Whom He May Devour
I Pe 5:8 “8 Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour:”
D. One of My Friends is Always Telling Me to Relax, When I Talk to Him About Cussing and Lying
E. We Can’t Relax When it Comes to Living by God’s Word, We Have to Be a Doer of the Commandments of God
III. We Have to Be a Doer by Hiding God’s Word in Our Hearts, So We Do Not Sin Against God
A. You Do It by Reading God’s Word
B. WE Also Do It by Studying God’s Word
