Genesis 22

God called and Abraham listened.........I Sam 3

The test begins..... 1 Cor. 10:13; Heb. 11:17; James 1:12, 13; I Pet. 1:6, 7

Jesus and Isaac

·         Take your son your only son...................John 3:16

·        Who he loved..........................................Matt 3:17

·        He was an offering..................................Heb 7:11-27, Phil 2:8

·        On the mountain....................................Luke 23:33

·        On a donkey...........................................Matt 21:2

·        Tied up and put on wood...........................Matt 16:24, Gal 6:14

·        Three days..................................Mark 10:34, Matt 12:40

·        God will provide a Lamb.......................John 1:29

How much do you fear God?

·         Fear makes us wise........Proverbs 2:1-7, 9:10

·         It is never too late.......... Luke 23:40

 

God will always provide for us and bless us.  Psalm 67

So Abraham called the name of that place, “The Lord will provide”; as it is said to this day, “On the mount of the Lord it shall be provided.” Gen 22:12

 

The earth has yielded its increase; God, our God, shall bless us. God shall bless us; let all the ends of the earth fear him! Psm 67:6-7

 

 

Fear of the Lord and wisdom

 

 

Job 28:28 And he said to man, ‘Behold, the fear of the Lord, that is wisdom, and to turn away from evil is understanding.’ ”

Ps 111:10 The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom; all those who practice it have a good understanding. His praise endures forever!

Prov 1:7 The fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge; fools despise wisdom and instruction.
 

Prov 9:10 The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom, and the knowledge of the Holy One is insight.
 

Prov 15:33 The fear of the Lord is instruction in wisdom, and humility comes before honor.  
Isa 11:2 And the Spirit of the Lord shall rest upon him, the Spirit of wisdom and understanding, the Spirit of counsel and might, the Spirit of knowledge and the fear of the Lord.
