Intro:
We just got back from camp, and you guys are going back to school .
With that, there can be this feeling where you want your friends to have a taste of what you experienced, you want them to experience the love of God in their lives.
And that’s a good thing!
But, in implementing thatm sometimes people think that if you could just get them to youth group, everything would work itself out.
Sometimes that’s true, sometime not.
But I’ll tell you a secret, it’s not my job to evangelize to al of your friends, it’s yours.
Tell people about Jesus where you’re at.
Philip didn’t go out with a specific mission to go evangelize to an Ethiopian, he just felt like he needed to go towards Gaza, so he went.
When Philip encountered a moment to talk to someone about Jesus, he took it
He might have been scared, he might have not liked talking to people, but Philip did it because he followed God.
Evangelize where you are
Don’t wait to go somewhere special, do it while you still can!
Know your Bible
If Philip didn’t know anything about the Bible, there would have been way less of a conversation.
But, because Philip worked at understanding God and His Word, Philip was able to help the Ethiopian.
Don’t neglect to be in your Bible!
This isn’t just for evangelism’s sake.
Read your Bible because it’s a gift of God to let you know Him, and then you can use that gift to tell others about Him!
But, what happens when you don’t have all of the Bible figured out?
Don’t worry, God’s got that covered.
Trust God to help you through it.
Philip didn’t know everything, I don’t know everything, and neither do you!
But, the Spirit of God does.
Trust that God will help you while you evangelize, because He does it with everything else.
Even when it’s scary or intimidating, you’re not alone.
It isn’t actually your job to convert your friends.
It’s your job to tell them about Jesus, but you can’t change someone’s heart, only God can
